I got caught up on this show. The first two episodes are okay, but it really picks up steam in the third episode.
I love my AppleTV. It's how I get Netflix, Hulu, Starz, Youtube (mostly), and a plethora of other streams. Not to mention I can play my music through it, review photos I've taken on my nice big HDTV screen, and so forth.
I gotta say that ending was awesome. I had never heard of the Sea Dragon before. Supposedly it was designed, but obviously never built. For those who are into the space race, you guys are likely more informed about it than I am. It was designed to be 10 times more powerful than the Saturn 5 rocket. It could have carried an entire space station to low earth orbit. Unfortunately because of the lack of enthusiasm for space travel and the defending of NASA among other things, it was scrapped. Now I know a lot of people don't care for me posting YouTube videos, but this guy can really explain the rocket better than I can. The last scene in the final episode of the first season gives a pretty good visual of what it would have looked like. I can't imagine what it really would have looked like, but I really liked that scene. What did you think of that @We Are Borg ?
RDM says most of season two has been shot and they're working on post production. Season two takes us into the early 80s with Reagan as president and dealing with the cold war. I wonder if Apple exists in this timeline. What do think will happen @We Are Borg ? Interview.
First episode of Season Two dropped Friday. Dees Goood Stuff. I had to brush u a bit on Season One because there are a lot of people and a lot of moving parts here, and it's been a minute since the end of the first season, but I won't be missing any episodes. https://trekmovie.com/2021/02/15/in...ll-mankind-is-building-the-road-to-star-trek/
Just binged season two. Really good season that riffs on a lot of 1980's cold war issues. The Reagan, Carson and Lennon gimmicks started to wear thin but I understand that we're looking at an alternate history, so those figures would obviously loom large. I felt the season started slow but it really picked up steam by the third episode. And the final song played in the season finale definitely got my attention at first. The showrunners have been pretty meticulous about song choices so I wondered about the anachronism, until it dawned on me what was going on. Season Three ought to be interesting!
Either this: or this Episode of a podcast hosted by some folks with pretty strong space geek cred talk about the new season and how much they love it.
I bit the bullet and got Apple TV, despite my lifelong commitment against Apple products. They have a lot of cool content on this I watched the first episode, and it was a bit slow, but I am intrigued and will watch more.
Just finished the second season and while I liked it, I get this sense from the very beginning that the writers are basically saying that if women were in charge, the world would be so much better.
I haven't got any sense of that at all. What they seem to be saying is that things would have been better if there was more focus on pulling in everyone who could do a good job, rather than sidelining people due to gender, race, or sexuality.
When you start Season 3 I recommend watching the shorts on Apple TV as well. There are half a dozen or so, presented as 2 minute tv news bulletins from the decade between season 2 and season 3.
Thanks for the perspective into what it's like to have a fragile masculine ego because of an Apple TV show. Can't wait to start season 2.
