Nah. Dayton or UA or FF expressing and defending unpopular opinions is one thing, derailing thread after thread by making themselves the topic of discussion is another. Dayton was the worst offender, and he got turfed for it.

Have you considered that there might not be political bias at play here, but simply that most of the people exhibiting the most disruptive behavior happen to be on one end of the political spectrum? I recall Chardman getting banned at one point, and he was firmly in the leftist camp.

Another issue is that we're all a known quantity here. If I started a thread on whatever social issue, I'd know almost immediately who would agree with me, who would disagree, and that the thread might stretch to 20 or 30 pages where the 5th post in makes everything personal, and there's just no point. How many times can we retread the same tired arguments?

Another thing about social media like Twitter, Instagram, and all those quickie media sites is that you can build a large following and have a whole army of people who will defend you from anything, and you don't even have to do anything but throw out a hot take that you don't even believe. It's a power trip, and when you compare that to a little message board where everyone actually has an idea of who you are and when you're trying to bullshit them, that seems unappealing for some.

OK looks like we got two good suggestions for WF's longevity so far:

1) Make Federal Fuckhead a protected class;
2) Ban all the furries.

Well, I do have to admit, I am merely a shadow of Dayton's success for derailing threads here on WF. In all honesty, I do not even feel I would win an honest comparison with FF and UA on thread derailment here. I just really do not have the time or desire to get that far anymore. There is a lot of effort in that level of derailment even on a board of this low level of activity. I have done better in far bigger places. Even the fleshlight had better dedication than I have today.

However, I am thankful for my fans dedication to my banning despite my failure of not even having a temp vacation yet. I would say I will try to do better in the future, but your dedication to me is already achieved so what purpose do I really have in working harder.

Tererun posts are kind of like ads in the middle of a news article, you just kinda keep scrolling past.

Maybe considering like the people who make the ads I notice an uptick in response due to them even though everyone claims to scroll by them. But we don't want to talk about how my name is on everyone's fingertips.

You know who doesn't mention me? UA. Could you imagine what conversation would look like if I went at it with UA on UA posting levels? You would ghet a minimal taste of what free speech actually looked like, and both of us would probably get banned.
