And turn their emotions off at the drop of a hat too. Bullying stays with you. That's the point. And in many cases, participating in the online circles where bullying occurs is NEEDED, either for work or simply because social media is now part of life. You might as well tell kids to avoid the playground, or adults to avoid the only bar in town. Why is it the victims that have to be excluded rather than kicking out the bullies?
(As UA) EMOTIONS ARE FOR SISSIES!!!!! STOP BEING SO EMOTIONAL!!!!! BE A VULCAN LIKE MEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I!!! AM!!! LOGICAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Or raise your kids not to be RULED by emotion, that they are not entitled to feeling happy, welcome and validated at all times. And you can function in spite of it. In a corporate setting, there are policies and disciplinary action. If you're talking about kids, no, they won't die if they get off of Instagram. Stop equating physical violence with mean words on the internet. You can either exclude yourself from society or accept the FACT that your feelings do not grant you veto power over your environment.
Or ever. That's how bullying makes you feel. That you can't try and enjoy life without someone kicking you. That if you go out, someone will hurt you. If the answer is "create a whole race of cunts like UA", we may as well pull the plug on this species right fucking now.
Emotional damage stays with you far longer than a bruise. And is far trickier to heal, partly because of the sort of cuntish "suck it up/walk it off" argument you exemplify here. Ironically, your own misguided personality can likely be traced to emotional abuse at some point, but you HAVE to convince yourself it "toughened" you, instead of leaving you emotionally crippled.
You seem to think I have never experienced any of that, just because I don't mope around wailing about my "traumas" as an excuse not to function as an adult. You could do worse.
See post above. "Function" is an interesting term though. I'd question why you didn't say "Live". A machine "functions". Humans are not just here to function.
The problem is terms like that used to have meaning. Now we're expected to treat someone who was "misgendered" on Twitter the same as a Vietnam war POW, and I refuse to play along.
Therefore everyone should just shut down and refuse to function when their feelings get hurt. Sorry. No sale. The universe doesn't owe you happiness, and doesn’t care if you sit and pout in protest.
We lived in your ideal world when depressives were called "melancholic" and were just considered sinfully lazy, and religious maniacs beat the shit out of them. Oddly enough, the beatings didn't get them to till the fields. Weird, huh?
The college student was home on Spring Break this week and the 40 year old insisted he watch the Rocky movies. In Rocky II, there's a scene with Apollo Creed bitching about the hate mail he's receiving because he lost/agreed not to have a rematch/all kinds of other shit. Bullying celebrities isn't new. and should have been addressed 50+ years ago.
You are aware that cyberbullying includes things like doxxing, correct? So, if @Jenee was pissed off at you for leaving the toilet seat up or whatever you two fight about and she gave us your personal information, and we started calling and emailing your place of employment and slander/libel the hell out of you, you'd respond by shutting off the computer and going outside for some fresh air? Also, you're a wrong poopie-head.
And so I must accept all claims of "cyberbullying" as equally consequential to doxxing? No. I have no doubt that there are people here capable of that kind of cowardly shitbaggery, but you don't get to lump that in with calling someone mean names on social media.
Guess where I ate today? Although, I ordered through their main restaurant page instead of the ghost kitchen. I've eaten there a few times and it is awesome.
