Dianne Feinstein Continues to be a Good Argument for Term-Limits

Either of those scenarios could be true, or it could just be more rumor mongering, who knows? This is going to sound horribly ageist, but I think any congressperson over the age of 70 should have to do a mandatory mental wellness check every year, and I mean by a third party, not by any doctors on the government payroll. These people have a decade of life left, maybe two, and yet they make decisions that affect the younger generations who will have to live with the fallout from those decisions. Things must change.

Then they’re a shitty staff. Forget the harm that they’re doing to her and the country, if you can’t parley working for one of the longest serving senators in DC into another high-paying job, you suck.

That is not how that works. Political staff are hive mind, territorial, power hungry, greedy, leaches. If you let one of the other hive leaches in, then they will have to increase their power by taking over your hive mind with theirs which means supplementing your hive's yes men with their hive's yes men. If you think the fact you let them in would mean they have some loyalty to you, they only see that as a weakness that would allow another hive to infiltrate their new home so it is best to get rid of you.

It is the evolution of the political staffer. The only way you get to move hives is if you are so impressive you get recruits which means you betrayed your previous hive and are now their enemy. The problem there is the new hive drones do not trust you because you jumped ahead of them in line so you are doomed anyway.

You are thinking about teamwork and winning when we all know there are no people on feinstein's staff who have not had their brains carved out and replaced with hive pudding. Whatever go getter thinking winner they used to be has long since been harvested and eradicated from their system.

Her staff and the media has known for years she was in decline.

I do seriously believe that there are members of her staff that are willing to Weekend at Bernie’s her to keep the music playing.

Y'all see the report (Rolling Stone maybe? Or Daily Beast?) about her staff having a system to chaperone her, without her realizing, literally every time she left her office for several years now because she kept saying stuff they had to take back?

She never should have stood for re-election LAST time.

If she does resign -- or dies -- it'll be awkward as fuck for Gavin Newsom.

If he appoints Katie Porter, Adam Schiff, or Barbara Lee, there will be two U.S. Representatives and a decent chunk of the electorate in his party who hate him. He's going to have to find somebody who has absolutely zero interest in holding the seat past 2024.

Maybe I should rethink this. We'll get all 80 year olds in office, and get leftists to become congressional aides. That way, when the congressperson can't remember what to say, we can just tell them what we want them to say and they'll say it.

My response acknowledges exactly that. In the article @14thDoctor posted, Dianne Feinstein expressed confusion at what she was voting on, and a Democratic Senator leaned in and told her "just say aye."
