Tron 3 Is Still Totally In the Works, Says Jared Leto

Ditch the cult leader and we'll talk.

It's been shelved again, but in the wake of the director's latest movie's performance (some kind of homoerotic movie about an old guy who fly's planes for a living, or something) that might change.

Here is hoping it waits long enough for Leto to get bored and find something else to glom onto.

I think I'd be greatly upset if they let JL do this to one of my favourite franchises.

Disney's getting a Tron-themed ride later this year.

Yeah they have it in China already and its been under construction at Disney World for years...it's outside the train track.

Tron 3 starts shooting in August, and is called "Tron: Ares".

Wow, that was some lamesauce right there. Maybe if you were alone on a seat that would be really cool, but a three hour wait and then I get that ride and I am really pissed I came to disney.

Disney rides are not thrilling and meant to be visually spectacular and that was not visually spectacular at all.

TRON Legacy is one of my top 5 favorite movies. I fear that they won't continue Quorra's story.

If his comic book movies are any indication, Jared Leto likes to Mary Sue himself more than Dwayne Johnson.
If this flick goes in that direction, kiss all the characters you liked goodbye.
Hope he proves me wrong.

If Leto is the antagonist and he plays the role similar to the role he played in Blade Runner 2049, then we're in good shape. It's a crap shoot really. He was really good in "The Little Things."

I would not rate it one of my top 5, and my network engineering knowledge partially works and partially triggers my OCD geekiness with it, but I like it. It is time to ditch the whole Quinn and perhaps Tron from it. They really should go with Quorra and they can refit Tron into the narrative.

They did create something huge to work with in Legacy with the sentient programs and the whole genocide thing. I just do not think they have the creativity to capitalize, and even if they do I highly doubt Disney execs will let anyone truly bring anything good to the franchise since it is one they really own and created. One of the real problems is the original creator knew jack and shit about how programs really work so the whole setup was a bit wonky. You would have to drop some of that and go full on with the AI sentient program aspect to make something modern and refit it to today.

I am pretty sure anime has done that. Isekai is so much more advanced than Tron in the zapped into a video game thing. Sword art online, RWBY, so I was reincarnated as a spider, the repeated shows about slimes, rise of the shield hero, and these are just the ones I have watched.

Didn't we already almost have this shit and it was called reboot? Maybe Tron isn't doing great because the concept is so basic that we have moved beyond it. I am nostalgic for it, and I did love the daft punk battle scene in the bar. The idea is now the base of so much more advanced stuff.
