The state of Texas is questioning the legal rights of an “unborn child” in arguing against a lawsuit brought by a prison guard who says she had a stillborn baby because prison officials refused to let her leave work for more than two hours after she began feeling intense pains similar to contractions. The argument from the Texas attorney general’s office appears to be in tension with positions it has previously taken in defending abortion restrictions, contending all the way up to the U.S. Supreme Court that “unborn children” should be recognized as people with legal rights. It also contrasts with statements by Texas’ Republican leaders, including Gov. Greg Abbott, who has touted the state’s abortion ban as protecting “every unborn child with a heartbeat.” The state attorney general’s office did not immediately respond to questions about its argument in a court filing that an “unborn child” may not have rights under the U.S. Constitution. In March, lawyers for the state argued that the guard’s suit “conflates” how a fetus is treated under state law and the Constitution. https://apnews.com/article/texas-fetus-rights-prison-lawsuit-6c4fa19793cd56e5edade436d1392d90 Huh, it's almost like all the anti-abortion posturing was never about the fetuses at all...
I mean, they'll let children die from heat stroke, they don't care about life. They care about power. So of course women are just political tools for these Christo-fascist, nationalist assholes.
As long as nothing effects the Island of UA or the boy everyone has liberty. That is how libertarianism works.
I bet if some people haired barista insisted on calling you ma'am you'd shit yourself with rage and call 911.
Yeah, people that want murderers in jail are the same as fundies that want you locked up for pot, and your metal alums burnt. Both sides!
You don't back up anything you say except with your own opinion, so guess what, chuckles? You're a bigot. The thing is, there's a fuckload of posting history that shows it, but you would never care to acknowledge it. Even when your words are shown to your face, you don't acknowledge them. You're a coward, and yes, you are a bigot.
You want to be called "Uncle Albert" instead of the name on your birth certificate!! You're a dictator!!!
'Bigot' has a very specific definition, and that ain't it, toots. The only acknowledging I refuse is your narrow-minded categorizing of people into "people who affirm and validate Amaris" vs "evil oppressors. " That doesn't reflect me and it doesn't reflect reality
That prison you're locked up in sure has a long internet privilege period. Oh, your ass is free? And you call Amaris the drama queen who thinks words are oppression? Physician, blow thyself.
Does Amaris want to dictate free speech? Yes. Does Amaris want to interfere between parent and child? Yes. Does Amaris want to dictate terms to the owner of private establishments? Yes. I, on the other hand, would do no such thing.
That is a lie. You want to dictate how children present themselves without their parents guidance, because your posts support preventing trans kids from playing sports with their gender identity. You immediately side with the parents who don't, and not the parents who do.You also outright reject the scientific consensus that gender identity is real, and that being trans has scientific support, instead choosing to side with religious fundamentalists who want that to be dismissed. In the same way that I want it to be taught that the earth is a globe, rather than flat, despite your delusions of it being flat. Now, prove it. All you've done so far is show that you want to dictate what is and isn't reality, and so far you've chosen delusion.
None of that. *Waves in a circle encompassing you in my field of vision* None of this is the person you actually are. None of it.
If a child were being verbally, sexually, and/or physically abused, and @Uncle Albert knew about it, he would not get involved.
Well, it would depend on what Youtube was distracting him with that week. Y'know, like litterboxes for furries, or a guy with giant novelty rubber tits pretending to be trans, or an anti-vax idiot being fired from a Disney show. Something like that. If he were keyboard-screaming about that shit, he could hear the hitting, and clothes ripping, and crying in the next room, and blank it out.
Not just that, but he admits as much. He considers stepping between a parent and their child, and to dictate free speech as indicative of imposing will on others. So if he saw a parent beat their child with a baseball bat because they were transgender, he would not interfere. Nor would he call anyone to have them interfere, because that would be imposing their will on a parent and their child. This, obviously, includes the police, the ultimate example of state and federal authority run amok. In short, living next to @Uncle Albert's house would mean free reign to do whatever you want to children, because he wouldn't dare interfere. It's his most solemn belief.
by wanting full (and ideally, publicly insured) reproductive rights and medical autonomy for women? how does this relate? Y'know... I remember being on clinic defence back before abortion became a right here. We'd sleep in the Morgentaler clinic the night before just to form a human lane against anti choice christo-fucks accosting young women trying to attain a possibly traumatizing medical procedure. (and yeah... call it virtue signalling if you want. I'm fuckin' proud to have literally fought for this)
You've said yourself you used to actually hit other students over the head with your bible if they didn't believe in God the same way you did. I've said it before, all you've done is trade one bible for another. UA is correct, you want everyone to think the same way you do.
I've never hit anyone over the head with my bible. I said another evangelical kid in our school did that, and people hated him for it. I was the one who invited people to sit with me at our lunch table. Here's the question, though: at what point did you stop caring about people who were hungry, homeless, and being exploited by others?
My point on that one, though, and it's a frequent accusation, is that I've swapped out one religion for another, when the truth is all I've done is found a system that better complements my principles, which haven't changed. It makes me wonder if other people just trade out their principles all of the time, and I'm somehow missing it, because the core of who I am hasn't changed, because that's who I am. Do other people just switch things out like batteries?
