We have here, yet another attempt at redoing the first battle between the Enterprise and Reliant using CGI. The quality of the FX are around decent videogame quality, but not nearly as good as what you see on Disco or SNW. I will say, however, he does add some shots and angles that are pretty cool. Hand this off to someone who can do high-quality CGI, and you'd have something that could work in the film, I think.
The scenes of Enterprise listing are a good idea, but the camera moves too much in the wrong ways. I'd rather emphasize how dead in space the ship is. Also, showing the initial shots actually hit the engineering hull is important. The Reliant dancing around the Enterprise is probably more interesting to animate, but it detracts from the direct, tense confrontation between Kirk and Khan.
Were the 90's Trek action figures really intended for kids? What sort of adventures were they supposed to be acting out with them?
If the Star Trek Powers That Be were to cast someone as Odo , which actor would be good & pull it off right? Actors who come to mind who could possibly MIGHT (??MAYBE??) pull off playing Odo are Liam Neeson , Ron Perlman , Brad Dourif , Leland Orser , Frederick Weller , ?? , can't think of anyone else right now? It's a damn shame Rene Auberjonois passed away , he was such an awesome actor , & specifically an even more awesome character actor. May Rene Auberjonois rest in peace.
Easier to just cast a new young shapeshifter from the Great Link who has all of Odo's memories. Like a Trill, but liquid.
Alternately, I wonder if Salome Jens is still working. She's listed as an actress in Finding Hannah, a film that's in postproduction, but for all I know it could have been shot five years ago. Interestingly that movie is apparently Diana Muldaur's first role in many years.
"Caretaker". God, the Caretaker sucks. Caretaker is the suckiest super-being in all of Trek; and Armus, Nagilum, and Kevin Uxbridge exist. Caretaker is basically the blind guy from "Don't Breathe" in the body of a Vidiian, if they stole the Timeship Relativity for the transporters. The rest of Voyager was supposed to redeem Caretaker, but nope. The writers blew it. You're an asshole, Caretaker.
It would've been very fitting , appropriate & cool had Robert Patrick , who played the T-1000 in "Terminator II : Judgment Day" , had played a Changeling.
Easy fix. The new doors are conveyor belt hallways that lead to the actual turbolifts. Why waste that space? The new computers were space greedy, and they had to make ungainly changes to cram them in. Upgrades cause downgrades in real life all the time.
that aft airlock seems pretty useless for docking with any other ships and even more so as an egress for crew.
why would you dock them there though? there's no storage space for repair materials or any practical reason other than being a 1 minute walk closer to the bridge than the perimeter docking ports.
