Given that the villain is: It doesn't really matter since the whole concept behind him is multiverse, as he opens the door for:
This one is kinda . . . unimportant, in a way. It's not like they're gonna stick the guy in a Galactus suit. It's just going to be a voice-over gig since Galactus will be like Arishem, all CGI.
In a couple issues from the 80s he had a girlfriend who was also a Silver Surfer. I think he did the noble thing and got her to return to being human while he stayed a SS.
If they want to gender swap the Surfer - - just use Nova instead. She's already a female woman of the opposite sex.
I mostly agree. Except, boy-Surfer is in the Tim Story movies already (and they seem to want to ignore Fan4stic), and they seem to want to play up the whole multiverse thing, so I could see them tinkering the MCU versions of pre-MCU characters to point toward even the MCU isn't the true "sacred timeline".
!!! Y'know what'd be a fun scene? If Pedro-Reed shows off his shapeshifting by morphing into Ioan Gruffudd, Miles Teller, and John Krasinski.
CAN Reed shapeshift? I thought, like Plastic Man, he was mainly just stretchy with only limited ability to change his form (Plas can, but can't change his colour scheme).
They've ret-conned he can do faces. There's a deleted scene in '05 Fantastic Four where Ioan Gruffudd morphs into Jackman-Wolverine. Avi Arad was trying to jury-rig an MCU even back then.
I liked ‘The Marvels’ okay. It was better than Thor 4 and Eternals. Not as good as some of the other post Endgame films. Eternals just feels so disconnected from everything else and there was a lot that didn’t make sense. I think that would have worked better as its own thing, or maybe as a D+ show. Thor 4 just felt unnecessary. He had a decent trilogy of movies and should have gone out on a high note with Endgame like Tony and Steve. I liked all the other Phase 4-5 films so far. I have enjoyed all the D+ shows too. They are different enough from each other and I am enjoying the variety. Overall, I don’t get the complaints about the lower quality. Maybe there is too much content and they are spreading themselves thin and causing superhero fatigue. But I like that there are different projects to cater to different people and different interests. This has never been done in entertainment before, at this scale. Consider all the projects that have come out since Endgame… Black Widow Shang Chi Eternals Spider-Man: No Way Home Doctor Strange 2 Black Panther 2 Guardians 3 Guardians Holiday Special Ant-Man 3 Thor 4 Marvels Wandavision Falcon And Winter Soldier Loki What If Hawkeye Moon Knight Ms Marvel She Hulk Werewolf By Night I think thats everything? Not all of it is great and most of it feels disjointed but you can’t tell me its all trash. There has to be something in there that appeals to you unless you just hate Disney for political reasons or ‘wokeness’ (whatever that means).
Eternals would have been a lot better had they stuck with Kirby's original vision and not that clusterfuck of bullshit they came up with.
Yeah, Marvels had much better pacing and plotting than Thor 4, and a villain that worked much better too.
Steven Yeun is going to be Sentry. Dammit, Sentry is the pits. Sentry is Homelander without the funny. Sentry is Q without the funny. Sentry is every little kid that overpowered their character, and ruined the game. https://comicbookmovie.com/thunderb...teven-yeun-will-play-sentry-a207878#gs.12ss0m
Deadpool 3 is going to be the only MCU movie for 2024. Everything else is bumped out to 2025. I'm assuming Sony is going to take up the slack though. Yeah, yeah, "Madame Web" and "Kraven" don't look like masterpieces, but there's "Beyond The Spider-verse".
Pedro's great, and I'm sure he'll do fine as Reed Richards. ... but I would've wanted someone else in this role too. He's doing everything... and I'm kind of getting tired of his face. It's not that I don't like him but when he's the lead in every genre I like, it gets a little distracting.
There's 0% chance "Beyond the Spider-verse" is coming in 2024. From what I read, Lord and Miller put the animators through hell with re-writes. I'll see if I can find the article.
Really? I thought The Marvels was better than every post Endgame MCU film except "No Way Home." Not that that's particularly high praise, but I enjoyed it.
Mount, while great, the execs are looking for someone like RDJ who can carry the MCU for another ten years and unfortunately, Anson Mount is too old.
I always thought Reed Richards was a little older than the rest of his team. If you ask me, Anson is perfect.
I don’t disagree with anything you said, but I’m not sure the execs agree. Although I’m sure Feige probably casted Pascalwith this in mind. Now let’s see who they cast for Sue Storm, will she be age appropriate or a twenty something year old?
'Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse' release date indefinitely delayed (ew.com) This cites the SAG-AFTRA strike and says that as of now, Beyond The Spider verse is indefinitely delayed.., but I believe I saw a Vanity Fair article that talked about how many of the animators were so upset with Lord and Miller due to their constant rewrites after they'd completed animations.
There was a really tough Variety article a few weeks back that smeared the MCU so it might be in there. https://variety.com/2023/film/featu...problem-the-marvels-reshoots-kang-1235774940/
Then there's this. https://variety.com/2023/film/news/...-release-date-pushed-2024-strikes-1235682520/
