A tactic of the complicit passive bigot. T'bonz is a fucking karen

I have taken this out of the Isreali conversation as this is more about an annoying trait of the stealth bigot. This also does not just apply to anti-trans or gay bigotry. I have seen this sort of questioning of blackness and other things too. This is a sign of prejudice, and is a passive way of trying to shame the other into doing what you want through pretending to be their friend and caring.

In this case we have @T'Bonz who has come here after @Amaris from trekbbs to attack amaris by doing some prejudicial things like deadnaming her. Now this character was called out on their anti-trans behavior, but they want to pretend they are a good guy, while showing that their respect for Ameris' identity was conditional on Amaris being nice and agreeable. It does not really work that way. A trans person, or a black person, still remains who they are even though the bigot is now bothered with them.

One of the things I should also point out is that many bigots have "good ones" in the community they dislike. These are token people like a candace owens who they try to use as their black friend to obscure their racism.

Instead of telling amaris she is a fucking anti-semetic jerk, which does not seem to be working, or just calling Amaris a jerk who's opinion they do not agree with and find reprehensible, which would be a valid non-bigoted opinion, this idiot goes out and starts judging something completely irrelevant, but personally painful and misgendering. It is like pretending to be friends with a black person and as soon as they do something you don't like you tell them I knew you were just a n-word anyway.

This is a clear sign a person has bigotry just waiting to come out, and they do not have any respect for the people they pretend to have respect for. This is that Karen who is just waiting for the excuse to go on some tirade against an other, but they are not prejudice in their mind.

It happens all the time and the most entitled people do it. The good thing is it was never really a loss. These allies are not real and never were. They never had your back and were never your friend. They only used you for what they could gain from your token.

You're not wrong, but let's not romanize the past too much, Wordforge attracted just as many of the bad faith assholes as it did the ones who had genuine concerns over the way TBBS was run.

Assholes getting banned from TBBS, running here bitch about it, then finding out many TBBS mods and admins also have accounts and don't have to be as polite here is a longstanding tradition. Also, Amaris didn't just become a raging asshole with a massive chip on their shoulder in October, it's been ongoing since at least 2020. That's when I remember getting blasted as a bigot and transphobe and misogynist by Amaris because I described them as a "he," when my longtime Facebook friend John Allen was still going by the name John and looking like he pretty much always had. Turns out I'd missed a quick mention of their transitioning in one thread and an update to their profile information (how often do we check each others profiles anymore?) and that made me worse than a thousand Jetpack Hitlers. The assholery is just getting more attention now.

Since @T'Bonz has tripped my toxic geek by wondering who the fuck I am I will go into a little about how fucked up it was to be gay and trans back in the day.

When I was in high school I had a Trek Geek friend. We were watching TNG as it was released. I think this was right after the second part ending of best of both worlds opened up the trek season. My friend was telling me about the upcoming NYC Trek Con and how we had to go. We were like little girls going to see the new kids on the block.

So I had some good cash and he was telling me about how awesome Micheal Dorn was to see at a trek con because he had seen him before. So we put our money together and we made Borg costumes. I cannot say we were the first because the borg had been out for a while and there had to be someone before us who went to a convention as a borg, but we made our shitty, but ok borg costumes, and we got on metro north which was the train that went to Grand Central in NYC, dressed as borg. We were chattering Star Trek all the way down. People were staring and wondering WTF we were doing.

Now at this time, I could not even wear a fucking earring in puhblic out of fear someone might figure out I was trans. My friend who did this with me never knew until very recently. There is more, but I want to give you an idea that I could do this costume geekery and had fun, and even eventually brag about it to my other friends, but don't let me be seen anywhere with some make up on or in something that might look feminine.

So anyway, we get to the con and we are getting some great reaction from the adults. I must have been 16 and had just had my license because I was smoking. So we saw Micheal Dorn who dude should have been a stand up comedian because he had a good hour routine on stage and it was awesome. Then we spent some money at the auction and the dealer room on all sorts of trek shit. We had a big box full of crap that took two of us to carry it home. So we are dressed as the borg, walking to Grand central in NYC, and there is something going down the street with all sorts of people watching and cameras around.

So we have to check it out, and we are coming up to it and we see a sign and are reading it. I am thinking it says national order of thespians. We wear glasses and have shit eyesight, along with borg shit over one eye. So we get closer and realize that doesn't say thespians, it says lesbians and we are walking into some sort of gay event. Those cameras are the fucking news, because there is no one else around doing vlogs in around 1990. We realize we are dressed up as Borg, and at a gay event with news cameras around, so we start running because we do not want anyone to know we are associated with homosexuality. My friend was in theater and really on that edge, and I am super in the closet tranny. So we can be the biggest nerds in the world because nerd pride was swelling, and we were starting to have some pride in who we were, but not being gay or trans. That was a lot worse than being a freak who dressed up as the borg for trek cons in the 90s.

God that was a great adventure. We came back on that train with all of our loot from the auctions, and we were geeking the fuck out like crazy on the train. That was all we could talk about in school for the next few weeks, and our geek friends who didn't go because they were afraid were all pissy. I loved living near NYC for those big events you could always go down and see.

Little secret, I also was learning it was better to be a boy because the girls we knew were way too afraid to go down to the city alone or in pairs because of men.

I woulkd like to point out that I personally had a very hard time with the change myself and have repeatedly misgendered @Amaris after she came out and she has never said a cross word to me about it despite doing it a number of times because I was used to the old association.

Maybe it is you. Maybe Amaris did not have time for a known asshole who has some real prejudices that just pop the fuck out.

You are clearly jewish superior. I do not think that has just started, and your orthodox morality probably showed through long before that. Maybe you are just a POS and Amaris didn't feel the need to coddle you and hold your hand to make you feel good about something that was going on with her that you did not like her doing. You are still portraying it as something inconvenient for you.

The only thing I will fault amaris on is not warning me enough about the prejudice and hate going on around, and letting me think there were so many decent awesome people here. I am not saying there are not some people I would call friend or respect around here. You are a stealth POS people should be warned about. Don't get me wrong, polite people who stab you in the back when you do not act like they wish like @Peach Wookiee and @T'Bonz should be warned about me. I am actually cool with not wasting any time knowing who the fuck they are.

It took me a while to see your nature. with a few others around here it was the same thing.

There is one thing I will say about amaris. There is a bit of reactive dramatics in her, but I totally understand where that comes from. When I get hot I burn, so I understand and am fine with explosive reactions. I can deal with my friends making me angry sometimes, but they can disagree radically with me at times as long as I can respect that they will return to a place of appreciation for why we are friends and try to understand me as I do them.

With Peach wookie, it looks like shit to me that this person would come in and just dramatically make a power play about ignoring amaris over something you could clearly understand amaris doing. Amaris bleeds and cares for people in a very sailor moonish way. That is one of the reasons I love amaris, and it is one of the reasons i want to hear her ideas because I think she cares about the wellbeing of people in general. If she were to curse at me and tell me off I might be mad, but I would have to re-evaluate whatever it is I was looking at that she was arguing so much for. It is people like her that I feel actually want the best for others and have the forgiveness and caring to pay attention to because they are the good in society's conscience.

Not so much a guy who celebrates dead palestinians, and tells us it is our moral responsibility to punch and destroy every nazi all the time for the jews while he sits around and does nothing but bitch and complain that we are not doing enough to protect him.

As a white person growing up in the 80's there was always that complaint about how horrible black people were for wearing their hats backwards or sideways, or their pants down. Regarding gays. Don't care. Regular part of life.

Regarding trans. Honestly? Don't believe you can change sex. Believe it's a mental disorder (gender dysphoria). Normally don't care unless they're male>female intruding into my world which makes it a problem. I don't want to see a bio-male in my bathroom or competing in sports against women. Yes, that makes me a terf, or whatever the fuck you call it. I'm old. Women fought long and hard for their rights and now a man in a dress waltzes in and takes over. Fuck. That. Noise.

As for Amaris, I've know her for a long time. I was honestly shocked when I came over here (after reading what some others said about the change in personality). She went from a nice, pleasant person to, well, a bitch. (If you're going to own the sex, own the term. God knows I do!) So gloves off. Peachie is harmless (although I'm not keen on her politics but to each her own) and I'm protective of some of my posters.

It's my opinion that Amaris has been searching for meaning to her life for a helluva long time and has changed quite a bit in doing so, first trying this, and then trying that, mostly in response to being trapped in a miserable situation in life. That part I sympathize with, but it's evidently turned her extremely bitter and toxic. She's always been somewhat naive, which this latest obsession with Palestine shows. It's one thing to side with the underdog, but this underdog ain't quite the underdog that she thinks it is.

At any rate, now you know. Throw your stones or whatever, I don't care. You do you and I'll do me. I'm generally accepting unless you cross me or someone I care about, or as regarding the trans word, as I've said above. The right of someone Trans does NOT supersede the right of a woman and all the squalling and tantrums will not change the fact for many women.
