The one that cancels primaries and takes people of the ballots and the one that tries to jail their political opponents like this is the USSR and the one that rigs elections in favor of their preferred candidate and the one that cheats in elections.

Yes, even when Biden had both houses, Republicans kept fighting various Democratic initiatives tooth and nail. As you probably know, there are various tools that the minority party can use to derail legislation.

It is also worth pointing out that the Democratic majority in the Senate relied on people like Manchin and Sinema, who aren't progressive. Guess what their stance is on Medicare for All?

How about minimum wage of $15/hour?

I mean, I get it when people believe that the U.S. is not currently a racist country and see that within the realm of reasonable debate.

But to believe, let alone say, that never in its history the overwhelming majority of the U.S. believed in white supremacy, or that the official policies of the U.S. was that minorities had fewer rights than white people is mindblowing.

Keeping in mind that the national polling does not matter so much because of the Electoral College, and keeping in mind that there's a long time between now and November, I found this article that said while a recent poll showed Trump doing better in swing states, that lead seems to have narrowed in several of them:

Please be specific. What exactly do you think makes the Democratic Party “undemocratic” and how is it different from the Republican Party?

I was specific. Cancelling primaries, taking political opponents off of ballots and rigging elections for their preferred candidate. I don't see any other party doing this. The Democratic party, "we have to destroy democracy in order to save it."

Furthermore, not only did 49% of those that did turn out voted for someone other than Biff, but among those almost half of Haley's supporters say they would vote for Biden over Trump.

Your contention is that Bernie could have gotten Medicare for All and a $15 minimum wage past Manchin when Biden failed?

    How?

Most of the head-to-head polls are within the MOE. Biden also has the added cushion of being able to lose a state he won last time. Arizona or Georgia or Michigan for example.

A Biden-listening-to-Warren-and-Bernie presidency got a hell of a lot more actually accomplished (I know this is hard for a Republican brain to understand but doing things is more important than getting invited on to Fox a lot) that Bernie wanted than Bernie could have himself.

    You seem to disagree.

Is your contention is that Bernie could have gotten Medicare for All and a $15 minimum wage past Manchin when Biden failed?

    How?

Keep in mind that just Sunday night Manchin told a group of donors that if he can’t get Biden to move away from Bernie’s policies he will strongly consider running third party.

During Manchin’s remarks, which have yet to be reported, he indicated his relationship with the president, a fellow Democrat, has been fraught after he opposed many of Biden’s spending initiatives, and a plan to ditch the so-called filibuster. He said he criticized Biden for turning the Democratic Party to the far left—giving politicians such as Vermont socialist Senator Bernie Sanders an outsized role in shaping policy and regulatory appointments.

So when Biden is hiding in his basement on the campaign trail making speeches he's just supposed to make excuses as to why he couldn't get things done when he had both houses and progressives are supposed to vote for him a second time because, what, orange man bad? Is that the Hillary playbook from 2016 strategy? Do you really think that's going to work again, it didn't work in 2016?

Oh and why would Biden be concerned about Manchin doing a third party run, I thought the economy was booming?

I'm skipping past the point that Anc thinks he's making because it's obvious he's trying to make excuses for Biden. Some progressives might buy that, but I wouldn't bank on it.

Who do you think is more likely to vote for Manchin? A Democrat who voted for Biden in '20, or a Republican who doesn't like Trump?
