Well, I was wondering if Trump's decision to hold the speech at his Trash Palace instead of in some stadium somewhere was due to it being easier to fill, but Shane Goldmacher of the NYT points out a better explanation: By holding his campaign launch at Mar-a-Lago, his private club, Trump guarantees one of the first big payments his 2024 campaign makes is to a business he owns.
