Usually when politicians declare their candidacy for office, they seem happy about it. Or they at least try to give the impression of eagerness to take on the challenges ahead. But when Donald Trump announced Tuesday night that he was running for president for the third time in three consecutive election cycles, he seemed positively disgusted.
Fake news, because if Trump was ever found to have been doing anything wrong I know that @Paladin would have returned to be among the first to call him out on it.
The orangeforge had better start their victory dance now because you only have until jan 6th 2025 when they open fire on Trump supporters rioting at the capitol to tell us all how he is going to win this time. Paging @TheLonelySquire and @Volpone . Don't wait until september of election year like you did celebrating the 2022 red wave. Where are you guys? Are you still hiding under your rock after losing?
Somebody edited Trump's announcement speech to better reflect the public's reaction to it. https://twitter.com/AdamParkhomenko/status/1592714579821613056?s=20&t=jGR7vbhAbMGe4DEhoPLyBw A couple of posts in the thread, someone points out that Trump stole part of his speech from Avenatti.
I had a hard time rating your post. Funny, because of the bottom headline. Angry, because of the photo.
And then there's "one-column headline, almost below the fold," which is the NY Times' genteel version of throwing shade.
People joked in 2016 too. I think Trump goes by the philosophy that any attention, even negative, is a good thing. The worst thing that could happen to him is if people stop talking about him. He’s a narcissist and is fueled by attacks against him.
I think we all know that. The problem for the media is getting the right balance of covering an important political figure and enabling him with free publicity. Put yourself in a managing editor's spot where you would have to decide how to strike that balance and get back to us.
Javanka are signaling that they won't be part of the clown show this time around. Obviously this is part of their attempt to rehabilitate their images, make people forget their possibly-treasonous level of complicity, and start getting invited to the better cocktail parties again. But it's also another in a long string of ominous signs that a second Trump administration would be even more unhinged than the first one. At some point some journalist started to notice that Trump was at his most unstable on Friday nights, when Javanka weren't around because of the Sabbath, and realized that the presence of his daughter-wife probably kept him from being quite as batshit as his natural inclinations.
She's saying that NOW, but if the Orange-utan actually gets into the White House again, they'll be on that shit faster than Ted Cruz on a hobo.
We could start prosecuting the news for being complicit in the lies. It would not solve the pure look at me drama, but it would dampen the insane misinformation that is all basically attention whoring trolling at this point. For instance orange buffoon could still use his ron sanctimonious insults as speculative opinion despite not really fitting reality. However, he could not say the election was stolen or put bleach into your body as they are proven lies without holding places like faux news, MSNBC, and the rest of our news which is given to us by a second party without being accomplice to spreading them on their platforms outside of a live broadcast where they accidentally slipped through. Look at the huge drop in airtime for crackhead pillow guy since Dominion started civil suits on his lies. Even places like newsmax who have continued to host him have had to shout over him that he is lying because they do not want to be held accountable financially for the lies. Even Faux news has pulled back on some of it's reporting of the election lie and hedged it's comments after the suits were brought. Imagine what they would have done if they could have been named in wrongful death lawsuits by the families of those who refused vaccinations based of lies they broadcast. What would happen if Paul Pelosi could sue them for the lies they have told about dems eating babies which the guy who assaulted him directly referenced as the reasons he tried to kill him.
Pence’s warm-up for his run seems to be going well. https://twitter.com/acyn/status/1593079233529929729?s=46&t=FQ-MUI2m9CNovJa6KvZzuQ
On the one hand, her name is Andrea Barber-Dansby, so calling her Barbara is a pretty understandable mistake to make on the fly. On the other hand, he's a former radio talk show host, a profession that presumably leads to being very good at that sort of thing, so ... maybe her question rattled him?
Here's one of those things about Presidential elections that has historically proven true, though it is likely a coincidence that could end in 2024: The tallest candidate for President has always won. While Trump has claimed to be over six feet tall, Obama, who is 6'1", is clearly taller than Trump in photos, as is Biden. There's wildly varying numbers for how tall Ron DeSantis is, but based on photos, he appears to be shorter than Trump. So, it is entirely possible that the two leading candidates to get the GQP nomination are likely to lose against Biden simply because they're shorter than he is.
