Tangent. But an anecdote from a decades old International Relations class.

Somebody. It wasn’t Baker. Maybe Eagelburger or someone from the CIA (for some reason they trust CIA guys, see the CIA Director doing shuttle diplomacy right now). Anyway, it was the lead up to the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait and someone called the Iraqi ambassador into his office. He showed him satellite images of Iraqi troop build up and point blank said in an extremely calm and matter of fact tone that if Iraq invaded Kuwait the United States would rally the world behind it and push them out. This wasn’t a topic of negotiation it was a fact.

The Iraqi ambassador went back to the embassy and sent a cable to Baghdad saying the Americans would loudly but only superficially oppose the invasion and wouldn’t do anything else to stop it.

Afterwards it was asked of him, how did you get that from the meeting? That is the opposite of what you were told.

His response that no one would threaten to go to war while just sitting at a desk. Thousands, tens of thousands of people would die. How could someone say AND MEAN something like that without any passion or emotions? He didn’t even stand up or raise his voice!

Can’t remember if that’s a true story or just one that should be true.

The man has been saying he's opposed to any Palestinian state for decades and sabotaging any attempts to achieve that outcome. Anyone believing a report from an anonymous source that he's actually reversed that position despite repeating it loudly in public, particularly in this moment, is an idiot.

This is not a new idea anyway. Liberal Zionists offer a Palestinian "state" in name only, equivalent to the South African Bantustans, consisting of a number of discontinuous cantons bisected by Israeli settlements, with little control of their own resources. That's essentially what was proposed in Camp David in 2000. The 2024 version is likely to be even worse.

Of course zionist forge is going to say look how great and honest glorious leader bibi is being to those horrible palestinians who will never believe him. I am quite sure the genocidal madman has the best interests of the palestinians in mind.

@14thDoctor should recognize him pointing this out is like FF pointing out Hitler was on the side of the jews because he was a jew. I don't kniow why the jews didn't like hitler. He only wanted to give them showers and bake things for them in ovens.

I am not a fan of Hamas, but when there are brutal religious fascists out there who I am saying are being treated unfairly, there is really a problem. If Hamas blew their own dick off because they were trying to enslave women and kill gays I would giggle myself into a fit, but that does not mean I want a bunch of genocidal fucking jew supremacists wiping them out without a fight. I say that protecting Isreal is quite unfair and stupid from the US.

All we need to do is walk the fuck away, and maybe on the way out sell iron dome and a few big non nuclear weapons to the palestinians for a buck or two.

I'd like to think that is true. But he's been saying this for years, hailing it as his greatest achievement and the US have been in steadfast support of Israel all of that time, including helping them to block a solution. All of this talk is just PR to keep gullible liberals onboard for Biden.

Seems that given its origins, Israel has some very harsh laws against genocide. "Incitement to genocide", something that nearly all leading political figures, much of the media and other prominent people have engaged in, carries the death penalty.

So, if they apply their own laws, Netanyahu needs to be put to death.

21 IDF terrorists dead in a single incident yesterday. Sounds like they were rigging some more civilian homes for demolition and accidently blew themselves up.

Apparently this piece of shit - Colonel Baron Hevi, cosplaying as a dinosaur as he loads a tank shell - is one of the dead.

Many western media outlets are reporting it as "the largest death toll of the war". :jayzus:

Here's former head of Hamas Khaled Mashel saying that they have no interest in a 2 state solution, again.

Mashel was head of Hamas in Kuwait, where he helped Saddam Hussein's Iraqi forces invade and overwhelm that nation, starting the first Gulf War in 1991. He was expelled the next year, and has lived in exile ever since. His successes there propelled him to the leadership of the entire party.

    https://twitter.com/HenMazzig/status/1749402213112299638

So once again, how do you make peace with an organization that has as it's primary stated goal the destruction of your nation?

That he won't accept what's called "the two state solution" is the least interesting thing stated in this interview. You ought to quote it all (if you've even watched it) rather than cherry-picking this part.

He is essentially differentiating (hairsplitting for political reasons?) between what he will recognise and what he will de facto accept. The latter includes a state within the 1967 borders. This is a consistent position that they've advocated for some time, which also includes a 10 year truce with Israel.

    Previously he's said:
"As a Palestinian today I speak of a Palestinian and Arab demand for a state on 1967 borders. It is true that in reality there will be an entity or state called Israel on the rest of Palestinian land. This is a reality, but I won't deal with it in terms of recognising or admitting it."

Now, this might also be something you dislike or find unacceptable, but let's be clear about what their position is, rather than trying to make ourselves feel better about the ongoing slaughter.

He says in this interview explicitly that the new Palestinian state will be 'from the river to the sea.' That's all of Israel. This interview references the Oct 7th attack, so is recent.

Has he said other things at other time? Sure. Surely no member of Hamas has ever LIED. Oh, it literally says in their charter that all Muslims are welcome to join Hamas - as long as they are willing to keep their secrets. Huh, wonder what that means.
    Article Four:
The Islamic Resistance Movement welcomes every Moslem who embraces its faith, ideology, follows its programme, keeps its secrets, and wants to belong to its ranks and carry out the duty

Even the 2017 convention, which clearly is not something that the Militant wing of Hamas finds binding, states that Israel doesn't have a right to exist.
    The Land of Palestine
    2. Palestine, which extends from the River Jordan in the east to the Mediterranean in the west and from Ras al-Naqurah in the north to Umm al-Rashrash in the south, is an integral territorial unit. It is the land and the home of the Palestinian people. The expulsion and banishment of the Palestinian people from their land and the establishment of the Zionist entity therein do not annul the right of the Palestinian people to their entire land and do not entrench any rights therein for the usurping Zionist entity.

Which of course is much better PR to the West than their orginal statement on this:
This is the law governing the land of Palestine in the Islamic Sharia (law) and the same goes for any land the Moslems have conquered by force, because during the times of (Islamic) conquests, the Moslems consecrated these lands to Moslem generations till the Day of Judgement.

They've made it clear that because they've been getting their ass kicked for 75 years, they are willing to accept the 1967 border - but will continue to try to destroy Israel.

    ROTFLMAO.

Man, you can't make this shit up. It's 2 minutes 26 seconds.

He literally directly says that the 2017 charter is 'the POLITICAL document', and says word for word it is designed to get agreement from other Muslims and non-convinced Palestinians on board for a Palestinian state on the '67 borders. He specifically says that's the design for this stage.

BUT they reject those borders and will only accept all of Palestine - meaning the destruction of Israel.

He outright says that they will never settle for the '67 borders - as both the 1988 and 2017 charters also say.

Watch it again. Try to understand it this time. My god. LOL.
