When I met the woman I would marry, I was introduced by her sister - who referred to her by the pet name that EVERY member of her family never failed to use - BooBoo (almost to a person they still do 30+ years later)

So I called her by that name and she said "don't call me that" (I think she clearly disliked it but didn't want to retrain her whole family) so I ask her name and she told me her first name and then said "don't call me that either" - so I asked if she liked her middle name better, which she did, and that settled it.

Literally EVERY other circumstance in which someone says "this is the name I want to use now" everyone either goes along with or ignores (No, I'm never going to call him "Ye" but I'm never going to speak of him anyway) EXCEPT when the name crosses gender lines.

On Saturday, a trans-identified male runner placed second in a 200m and 400m race at the Sherwood Need for Speed Classic in Sherwood, Oregon.

In a video posted to X by Reduxx, in the first heat, Sophomore Aayden Gallegher sped away from the girls and cruised to victory with an overall time of 25.49 seconds. In a later heat, Gallegher's time was beaten by winner Aster Jones.

Perhaps you are unfamiliar with the word "dominate" but it typically doesn't involve losing races and "nearly" setting records.

The whole "would have been x among male runners" business is typically used without reference to having been on HRT and that treatment suppressing times (as happened with Lia Thomas) -this article implies that this runner has been barred from such treatment but I'm skeptical because Oregon has passed no such ban and the comments are likely hypothetical. But even so, if the trans person WANT treatments that will suppress their athletic performance and zealots prevent that from happening, it is THEY who created the claimed physical advantage.
