Yeah, it's bizarre.

Snider, it sounds like, is suffering from misinformation.

I, too, as a child, went through a phase in which I briefly just before puberty felt I was a boy.

But, like the study someone posted as an argument against allowing prepubescent children taking steps to transition, most children who experience “gender dysphoria” are just experiencing “a phase”. however, HOWEVER, this is where most people stopped reading the study. Had they continued, they would have read that the reason gender dysphoric children are put through so many tests is to learn which children are going through a phase and which children are actually trans. Only the very few children who (for lack of a better word at the moment) “pass” all the tests are allowed puberty blockers and are STILL put through more rigorous testing including living their life as their preferred gender for at least a year - this is the tricky part. If a transitioning child uses a bathroom that is not their preferred gender, then they are “in violation” of the terms of the transitioning process.

Anyway, yea, Snider is talking out of his ass.

In light of that recent Mayo clinic study, Snider might not be taking as much out of his ass as some might think.
Regardless, his opinion on that should not disqualify him as an ally. Clearly, he's on the side of acceptance. A knee-jerk response like he got is, in the end, just bad PR.

Yeah, seems to me like trying to educate Snider would have been much better than labelling him a transphobe and treating him like an enemy.

Related: I hate how full-on transphobes are going after puberty blockers lately. Puberty blockers were supposed to be the compassionate compromise, giving trans kids or potentially trans/undecided kids more time to mature and fully consider things before making any big medical choices.

The suicide rates are comparable either way, you fashionable cause-head twatwaffle.

You have no stats to prove that. The truth is listening to trans kids and giving them what they need while protecting them from violent anti trans rhetoric reduces the suicide rate you unfashionable hating transphobe. Grow the fuck up already. No one cares about what you think about trans kids except maybe in your echo chamber. Nex Benedict killed himself because of the bullshit people like you continue to spout.
