“Grooming” - Every Conservative accusation is an admission

So good I felt this deserved its own thread:


What the rightwing response to Andrew Tate has proven beyond any doubt is they don't actually care about "grooming" and never did.

It's an accusation that masks an admission. In their worldview, women of any age are men's rightful sexual property, and they want the monopoly. 1/

As long as you're part of their hierarchy, your crimes against women and children aren't crimes at all, but the natural order of the world. Something to be encouraged to reinforce their power and dominance. Hence why pedophile priests and GOP politicians are protected. 2/

"Grooming" only becomes a crime when people not of the in-group start to push back and assert themselves. The massive, coordinated attacks against Drag Show Story Hours have nothing to do with grooming children, because none are being groomed. 3/

No parents are being forced to bring their children to these events. They're entirely voluntary. It has nothing to do with defending their own values, but denying parents with "competing" values the chance to bring their own children up in them. 4/

Why? Because when children and women are exposed to a greater variety of ways of living, when they experience different viewpoints and opinions, the inflexible orthodoxy underpinning the entire rightwing worldview begins to crack. 5/

Their monopoly over what they perceive as their rightful property is threatened. Not because any children or women are being harmed, exactly the opposite. Because empowered women and educated children are harder for THEM to harm. 6/

Sexually insecure men like Tate, his entire incel army, and the rightwing influencers who know better but defend him out of solidarity have never cared about child abuse or sex trafficking. They care about their supply shrinking.
