If the score in the last Redskins home game before a presidential election is any indication, Obama will win in a landslide tomorrow. The good news is it's a Redskins loss and 4 of the 5 Dallas Super Bowl victories happened with a Democrat in the White House.
In other news, my fantasy team is getting smoked this week thanks to Cutler's performance on Thursday night.
I'm joining this thread pretty late, but oh well. I've been a Titans fan ever since the Oilers moved to Tennessee. I'm ecstatic over our season so far.
[action=Ramen]sighs.[/action] I knew it. Jaguars suck. It's astounding that they couldn't utilizie the standard post-Lions game confidence to beat this seaon's only undefeated NFL team. Fuck you for raising my hopes, ESPN.
...and...the Rams still suck. Even worse than before, if that's possible. Bulger has GOT to find his game again, and soon, or he's history. I think when he's ON he can be a top 5 QB in the league. Problem is, he hasn't been ON for about 2 years now. Trent Green is not any better of an option. Hell, if we're going to be losing like this, at least throw Brock Berlin in there and get him some experience...see what he can deliver... The O-line is pathetic. Can't pass block, can't open running lanes. We have ZERO depth at RB behind Stephen Jackson. We desperately need a widebody run-stuffing NT. And a bigger MLB. And some CB who can actually make a tackle AND cover a WR! At least our PK and P are All-Pro caliber. Sad commentary, that.
The Jets were just amazing today. Total domination. The game wasn't as close as the score, and the score wasn't close. I don't think I've ever seen the Jets with an O line that dominates like the one they've got now. I'm actually starting to feel a bit optimistic about the season, which as a Jets fan is an exceedingly unusual and unsettling way to feel.
I watched the whole game and I wish I had a dollar for every time I said, "Holy shit!" The Jets have never looked better than the last 2 games.
And yet, they aren't even the best team in their own home stadium. Five straight wins for the Giants over teams with winning records. That's the first time ever in NFL history. What was really awesome is they beat a really really good Cardinals team without Jacobs or Burress.
I absolutely love it when the Eagles get whipped. After Baltimore humiliated them yesterday, you should hear the sports talk radio in Philly. With the benching of McNabb (in addition to his idiotic comments about how he didn't know games could end in a tie) and the egg Kolb laid, you've never heard such a collection of whiners, pikers, cry-babies and bed-wetters in your life! It's priceless.
It's easy to appear to be good in this year's NFC West, the worst division in history of the NFL, if not sports.
Rush was right about McNabb. He was hyped up by the media to be something he will never be. He sucks. The sooner they dump his ass the better off they will be.
He's starting against the Cardinals on Thursday. Reid should be "benched" as well and exiled to Detroit or something.
Yeah, Reid sees the writing on the wall and is in the process of separating himself from McNabb to try and save his job, IMHO.
It looks like the Titans might roll up over 70 points in the game and frankly I hope they do. I'm tired of being subjected to watching the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving. At least the Cowboys give everyone a good show, like them or hate them they belong on TV Thanksgiving day.
I'd like to see no set teams for Thanksgiving--home field on the short week and three extra days on the next week are both significant advantages in theory, if not in Detroit, and shouldn't go to the same team every year--but yeah, at least do something to keep the Lions out of nationally televised games.
The Cowboys extra 3 days is offset by the short week IMO. But I'm admittedly biased since they are my team and I really love having them on TV every Thanksgiving. Being the most popular team in the NFL definitely has it's advantages.
The Cowboys Thanksgiving day game isn't a terrible thing--it's entertainment, and, let's face it: the NFL is about selling entertainment more than about selling perfectly fair competition. It's much more important to get the Lions off my television, although I suppose that the pointing and laughing counts as entertainment too.
You have to remember that "Cardinals" cancels out at least one of the "really"s. However . . . this ^ is reaching a bit much. The NL Central and NL West in the past eight years alone would beg to differ. They aren't popular with me.
