Kiffin is such an asshole. He had Orgeron texting UT commitments and telling them they had a spot at USC. It is amazing how unethical some of these mercenaries are.
I think a great way to solve this would be enacting a rule in the NCAA that says if you're the head coach of any program in Division 1 you cannot be the head coach of another Division 1 school without taking 2 years off in between. So if you are willing to go from Head Coach to OC or DC, fine, or you can move to the NFL or down to D2, but no school hopping. Or maybe just make it a year, after all, that's what they do to players.
That would be interesting, but would never happen. What I'd like to see, in this particular case, is the NCAA stepping up and slapping USC with the dreaded "lack of institutional control" penalty so that Kiffin spends his first 2 years short on schollies, off tv, out of bowl games, and on probation. If they can prove that Kiffin's staff was contacting Tenn. recruits (including the early enrollees) before he was officially hired or during the dead period, then they need to get nailed to wall. They're already under investigation, so there should be a very short leash here.
Penalize USC football? I'm beginning to think no amount of evidence will be enough. Kiffin is a douchebag. He and SC are a perfect fit. Guy has no class. His staff texting UT recruits doesn't surprise me in the least.
It's beyond retarded that the NCAA will punish a school, but not the coach who committed the violations. Nevermind the whole idea of vacating wins, talk about a fucking slap on the wrist.
Link Most papers have ombudsmen (at least the ones who haven't laid off/eliminated those positions) and more broadcast "news" operations should have them as well.
An ombudsman basically rips his employer, right? In other news, Oklahoma State hired Houston's offensive coordinator, a Leah disciple, as well as brought in former Tech quarterback Graham Harrell as a QB coach. Hey Tech, we drank your milkshake.
