It begins...

The end times are upon us. Do I speak of the ravages of global warming? Am I talking about an insolent rabble, standing and questioning their leaders in town halls across the land? Is it the pig flu that heralds the apocalypse? No, it is the pig skin that harkens the Four Horsemen of the Gridiron, and sends them marauding across the land.

The Chosen sit atop the rankings, confident that history and tradition will help them maintain their gilded thrones.

Even if their time near the top is fleeting, it is a small price to pay for the chance at immortality. Some look for redemption, some look for revenge, but all look for victory. Has-been or never-were, they cannot afford to slip, even once, or they will wallow in mediocrity, yet again.

So who will claim victory? Will the Chosen retain their status, further cementing their belief that dominance is a birthright? Or will one of the Rabble stand and dare the Football Gods to smite them down for their hubris? The Gods are fickle, how many times in the past have they left one of the Rabble standing on the outside, left with only hollow victories to show for their toil?

8-4, 2nd or 3rd in the West, winning two out of LSU, Georgia, Ole Miss, and Bama.

This year won't be about winning a conference championship. It probably won't be about even coming in 2nd, perhaps not even lowly 3rd. What it will be about is ruining the season for someone else. Will it be Texas, who rescheduled us for their 3rd game this season? Maybe they won't be ready for us so early in the season. Will it be OU, we've been going back and forth for 5 years and guess what? It is in Lubbock and it is our turn. Will it be OSU, or as some people are referring to them, "This season's Texas Tech." Or will it be the Aggies?

I don't know who it will be, I do know one thing though...

The Cowboys are within sight of the top ten, all that stands between them and immortality are Georgia, Texas, Baylor and Oklahoma.

Yes, I said Baylor. I just have a bad feeling...

The home/home streak continues. Even The Leach is no match for such laws of the universe.

That and Gundy has better hair.

Hair is overrated... As long as Leach rides into battle like that every game it doesn't matter, he can't be stopped.

Forget Baylor. They will be favored in 2 or 3 games tops this year. Griffin will be behind a worse OL and the surprise factor is gone. Baylor fans are the shit stuck to the shoe of the universe and they will quit on their team after their first bad loss.

I'd like to lead off this year with the traditional......SEC! SEC! SEC! And Go Gators.

The Pokes beat Georgia, split with Texas and Oklahoma. This leaves them with one loss, playing the hokey pokey to see who represents the South in the Big XII title game.

In other words, we're this year's Tech, only with better hair.

I cannot tell you how disappointing it is to see that. I used to think you were the cat's meow. Now you're just another Oklahoma chick with a gay husband. My heart is broken.

I predict another BCS by November.

I am excited to see what California has in store for us!!! I have an idea of what the season will look like, but I don't like to really make predictions and then get let down. Especially, when Cal is ranked in the pre-season. That never turns out well. Cal has a definite home field advantage (won every home game + the Emerald Bowl, which was basically another home game). Memorial Stadium is tough to play at, the cannon probably doesn't help the visitors. I hope Tedford has gotten the quarterbacks straightened out. JAHVID BEST and SHANE VEREEN are going to be amazing as usual. I can't wait to see how much they have improved!! I think Cal has potential to do well this year. Especially since usc is coming UP HERE!!!!!!!!

Mizzou shocks practically everyone by beating Nebraska and KU to win the Big 12 North for 3rd consecutive year. Then loses in the Big 12 Championship game for the 3rd consecutive year.

Florida wins SEC,
Ohio State edges Penn State to win Big 11,
USC once again dominates Pac 10
Boise State plays BCS-buster yet again.
Texas tops OK, OSU, Tech, etc... to win Big 12 South, and eventually the National Championship.

Those are my uneducated, shoot-from-the-hip guesses.

Remember, they lost Sanchez to the NFL and (was it their offensive coordinator) to Washington? I think the Pac-10 is up for grabs between usc, Oregon, Oregon State, and Cal (in that order). Unless Cal gets the quarterbacks and offensive line solid, Cal won't stand much of a chance in winning the Pac-10. If anybody paid attention to usc closely last year, you would have noticed they BARELY beat Cal and lost to Oregon State. I feel like it is really up in the air right now.

The PAC 10 should take in Boise State and Utah. They could then be a real conference, with a conference championship* and I wouldn't have to hear Boise State or Utah fans bitch every season or two.




*getting every major conference to have 12 and a championship game is a good start towords a SMALL playoff system.

I'm not a bandwagoner I actually went to OU.

They have every reason to bitch, since neither school is part of the BCS Cartel. "No justice no peace!" until that Spawn of Antichrist is buried once and for all.

Barring some catastrophic injury to Tebow this is easy: 14-0.

And I will have to listen to FSU fans talk about how much the Gators will suck NEXT year. As if anyone cares what they think.

Isn't this about the time you tell us how great the playoff system is for the 3 teams in the HS league you follow?

At least they have a genuine champion in EVERY OTHER NCAA SPORT in the US. You know, a team that ACTUALLY EARNED IT, not because they won a beauty contest in some poll.

When Delaware won it's last football championship, they actually earned it by beating some actual teams that were actually pretty good...multiple times. It wasn't "one and done" as a result of some retarded (toilet) bowl system.
