Anyone have any prop bets they like? I'm chewing on a couple.

    Ones I really like:

Ben for game MVP: +300. If the Steelers win, chances are he gets it.

Number of players to throw a pass: over/under 2.5, I like the over. Pittsburgh runs a lot of trick plays, including the only TD ever thrown by a non-QB in the Super Bowl. Plus, GB hasn't thrown a trick pass in years, which means it's the perfect time to uncork one.

Heath Miller yards, over/under 38.5: I like the over. GB has trouble handling tight ends, and he's gone over that 9 times in 16 games.

James Harrison, total tackles, over/under 6. Love the over here. He's been at or over 6 11 out of 18 games this year.

    Ones I kinda like:

Over/under on the game: I believe it's 44.5. Sharps are betting the under like crazy, but I don't want to watch the game and root for things NOT to happen.

John Kuhn rushing yards, over under 5.5. I like the over a little, but he's not really been used much in the playoffs.

Number of Packers with a rushing attempt: over/under 4. Kinda like the over, since Starks, Kuhn, Jackson and Rodgers should all get at least one carry. But GB doesn't pull a lot of WR reverses (they had one the entire season) so you're kind of counting on a Matt Flynn kneel down. Eh...

Hines Ward receptions/yards, under. Don't know what the exact numbers are, but Ward hasn't done much in the playoffs, and Ben is more likely to go deep to Wallace or Brown. But again, who wants to watch the Super Bowl and root for things NOT to happen?

Mentions of Brett Favre during the game, over/under 2.5. I may not be able to resist this.

I'm going for the Steelers but I don't think it will be a blowout.

I think Greenbay is going to make the Steelers work right up to the end for that ring.

I'm guessing the flag players were allowed to play actual defense.

[action=NAHTMMM]thinks Michael Vick should have been an exception to the "no sack" rule.[/action]

The center getting a TD at the end was great, though.

Chris Hanburger made the Hall of Fame! I remember watching him as a boy playing linebacker for the Redskins. :techman:

Heh, me too. He and a couple other 'Skins players visited my Jr High School to do one of those anti-drug speeches. Very cool guy. As were the other players.

Well, this thread is about winding down, innit?

A damn good football year, if you ask me. Great SB.

Lockout next year? Well, there's the CFL, UFL, college football and Madden 11 on the PS3 plus any number of computer football simulators.

Yeah if there's a lockout I'd be curious to see how the UFL plays it.

I remember the business with the USFL back in the 80's. I would NOT mind a legit contender to the NFL. More football is only a good thing, IMHO.

I think they'll work it out before then. Too much $$$ at stake for both sides.
