Valiant comeback effort. If it weren't for that return by the Niners I think Boston would gave had it.
I'm actually getting a little excited about this season. Not gonna say anything else, afraid I'll put the whammy on my favorite team
Not so good a day to be a Jets fan. I think if you add the number of times McElroy was sacked, hit, or rushed out of the pocket it's more than his total pass attempts on the day. Eleven sacks! Eleven! If you want to break a quarterback in his first NFL start and make sure he's never of any use to your team, the Jets put together the blueprint for how to do it today.
There was a glimmer of hope today, which was more than I expected. Of course the Jets game was even worse than expected, even given an advanced state of Jets' fan pessimism . . .
Should be a good game this evening. Be a better one if NE hadn't sucked big floppy donkey dick the first half of last weeks game, but still, should be good.
I got NFL Sunday Ticket this year on DirecTV and it's been the worst season since Kotite was the coach.
So will the Waterchickens and general and Russell Wilson specifically start getting some respect now?
They're getting respect now. After New England and Denver struggled to beat a couple of terrible teams this week you'll see a bunch of first place votes for the Seahawks in various power polls and they'll almost definitely end up topping the footballoutsiders ratings. Meanwhile, the Jets best quarterback is a wide receiver/punt returner.
The way RGIII was hobbling around useless for so much of the game after the first quarter even before the reinjury, I figure half the coaching staff should be fired for cause and any remaining guaranteed money in their contracts should disappear. Leaving him in there was a terrible coaching decision, even if the injury turns out not to be as bad as possible.
I like RGIII, so while I am glad they lost, I am equally glad that we didn't do shit to injure him (besides put pressure). I really do hope there is no permanent injury (he is a good guy and fun to watch) if there is it is all on them. On a serious note, does anyone have some airline miles they need to give away? I got a Godson I really need to see in ATL next weekend...
It may be bad: A radio reporter here Facebooked earlier that sources close to the Redskins are saying that the injury is so bad that Griffin will be out 14-18 months. Even as a Dallas fan, it's hard for me to root against Griffin because he's not only really, really good, but by all accounts he's a good kid (plus, like many NFL quarterbacks, he's from my state). It was incredibly selfish and short-sighted for Shanahan to keep him in the game (or maybe even play him at all). Way to go, Rat. You may have just fucked your 2014 season.
Without a doubt. I couldn't believe they kept him in the game after he aggravated the knee injury and was clearly hobbling on the field. Forget potentially ruining next season or his career; it wasn't even the best shot of winning the game he was playing. Griffin couldn't run or plant his back foot to throw, and Cousins is an adequate enough back-up to be a better option than a one-legged Griffin.
I've been there, but unfortunately only for a Giants game when a cousin had free tickets. It's a nice stadium, about as good as you could hope for given the cotenancy. And this time the teams are equal owners of the stadium, and the stadium colors and displays get changed depending on which team is home that game. Even the corporate sponsor isn't that bad--Met Life means we get to have the Snoopy Bowl each preseason, complete with Snoopy trophy for the winner of the Jets/Giants game. I'd have preferred our own stadium--corporate sponsor Hess oil, of course, and official name Hess Field and nicknamed "The Hanger"--but given the expense of building in the area and the small number of games in an NFL season it makes sense to share.
MetLife Stadium is one beautiful place. I found it to be much nicer than Giants Stadium had been. But I wish the Jets had gotten their own stadium, preferably back in NY. The Jets could've come back home to Queens, had all this stadium stuff been thought out better. The Yanks & Mets each got their own new ballparks. The NOW Brooklyn Nets have their own arena. If not Queens, then maybe a solo Jet stadium could've been built somewhere in Brooklyn or even Nassau County (far for alot/most I know ). Maybe Coney Island? Then again maybe not given how CI got flooded by Sandy. Here's a ridiculous thing. Both the Brooklyn Cyclones and Staten Island Yankees have their own stadiums. Both minor MINOR league baseball clubs, but the Jets, an almost 50 year old NFL (formerly the AFL Titans;original Titans) team, CAN'T get their own home and have to co-habitate with the Jints, seemingly FOREVER now.
There is no justification for separate stadiums, given the minimal schedule for NFL teams. Although two baseball teams have occasionally shared a park, it never works well. The Lakers and Clippers seem to be fine sharing Staples Center, though, which gets a minimum of 72 basketball games. It makes no sense to build two facilities, each to host 8 games, when the teams share the same geographic cachement.
