I've got tickets for game one on Saturday! Getting so close to my dream World Series, I can almost taste it.
I'm just gonna drop this right here... http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/20...n-baseball-playoffs-nhl-season-opener/207765/
What else do they have to watch in Mexico? Of course it has a 100 share. Last night's Redsox game was up against Sons of Anarchy. Do the math.
This was in America. More people IN AMERICA watched a regular season Mexican Soccer match than watch the MLB playoffs.
It would appear that you are mistaken. There are no numbers I can find so far for Saturday, but the numbers for the wild card round, which was mid-week, between loser teams that don't matter beat the soccer game by 500,000 viewers: http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/20...rd-averages-4-7-million-total-viewers/206820/ Given that, it seems extremely unlikely that the games on Saturday didn't exceed 4.2 million.
What did he do? It's not like he kick-spiked anyone during a bench-clearing brawl and ended a back-up catcher'scareer... *cough* Brandon Phillips *cough* *cough* fuckin' pussy *cough*
I wouldn't feel terrible if the Pirates won. They've gone, what, 20 years without any playoff success? This is a pretty decent postseason. Usually the league screws up and lets New York or Chicago or somebody with a horrible nickname/logo in, but I think the worst city in it this year is, what, Boston?
MLB isn't the NBA. Bud Sellig does not exercise Stern-like control over who gets to the post season. Anyway, it's looking very much like Pittsburgh is done.
I like the Cards, but there have been a few Boston-SL WS already. We've never had a Boston-LA match-up. Plus, the Dodgers have an unfortunate NLCS history with the Cardinals, time to expunge the past.
Any who who is a Washington Nationals fan BEWARE! Dusty Baker wants to be your next manager. Don't let it happen, he will ruin your team.
It seems pretty clear to me that that Ellis dude was out at the plate by any measure. Looks like a successful tag in progress to me. And Jay was doubled off first by a full step or so. The umpires got both calls right.
Leaving for Fenway in an hour! It's a cold night, I plan on many layers. Game one in 2007, I froze my ass off. Not going to repeat that mistake.
Tough to take a loss, but we have six more games. Plus seeing Nava break up the no hitter was sweet. Seriously, the Detroit staff didn't deserve that. They were wild and really helped by some bad calls made by the plate ump. Anyway, here are a couple of nice pictures, what baseball is all about.
The Dodgers are going to get back in it at Chavez Ravine. The Redsox really need to win tonight, because winning twice in Detroit would be tough.
