They won the regular season series by a game, but the Sox pretty much humiliated them in the last meeting.Their pitching seems unreal right now.
Cards up 2-0 heading to LA, with Wainwright taking the mound for game #3. It's looking very good for them right now, I must say! Beltran is playing like a man possessed!!!!
My wife is fortunate enough to be at this game, along with the game we went to last night. Here's a picture from Ortiz' at bat.
Who will pitch Game 4 for LA? Nolasco, who hasn't pitched since 9/25, or Greinke who pitched 3 days ago?
I just now saw this thread. I love baseball but pretty much only take time for it in the playoffs. I actually fell asleep and missed the grand slam. I want the redsox to win it all. I hate to see a low scoring ball game. I love extra innings. I was hoping Detroit would tie it up and we could see some more pitcher strategy. Love that. It's got to go back to Fenway and the monstah now. Verlader pitched well, lackey pitched awesomely.
The ALCS has given us three outstanding games. I haven't watched as much of the NLCS, but it seems to be pretty solid too. I would love it for both LCS to go seven, followed by an epic seven game World Series.
Cards up, 3-1! Do we finish it out tonight in LA, or once we get back to STL? With regard to the Junior Circuit, I'm thinking I'd rather see the Redbirds play against the BoSox than the Tigers in the WS (assuming we can win one of the remaining 3 games). I just fear Detroit's pitching more. And also there's some revenge to be taken for the 2004 WS. Either way, I hope the ALCS goes 7 and the teams beat the hell out of each other. Interesting how Larry and gul are very quiet regarding the NLCS, except when LA wins. Haters!
You know I am from Cincinnati, as a Reds fan we are required to hate the Cardinals, Not a fan of the Dodgers either, But I have been a Sox fan since the 70's, The 76 World Series was the best, my two fav teams playing each other.
@Nautica, I grew up in LA, and have been a life long Dodger fan. The Redsox passion came as an adult living in Boston. I have nothing against the Cardinals, but a Redsox-Dodgers World Series would be the ultimate baseball experience for me. If I don't get that, a rematch to 2004 suits me fine, maybe the Cards can even win a game this time.
Cardinals are 0-2 in going to the WS when they lead NLCS 3-1. We've got two more chances to make the third time the charm. We can do it.
