To accompany evenflow's thread, and to find out how many are willing to vote for McCain as a lesser evil. If you dislike McCain and will vote for him anyway, please post your reasons.
That depends. Perhaps I should start a thead with a poll asking Cass, Liet, and Packard if they would vote for him.
Not so much for McCain as against the other guy, but, yes, I'll be putting an 'x' next to McCain's name.
Because neither Hillary nor Obama ever heard of the Second Amendment and for all his faults McCain tends to be a friend of it, at least more than either H or O are. Not to mention that I don't want a menopausal woman in charge or a PanAfrican socialist with his hand in my pocket.
I see no evidence whatsoever that McCain is any friendlier to the 2nd Amendment that either Obama or Clinton are. On a side-note: Depending on how the recent Heller case gets decided, the personal opinions of the President on the 2nd Amendment might wind up being moot.
He has a C+ from the NRA which is better than the F both Hillary and Black Jesus have both gotten. And he did vote against the Assault Weapons ban and the renewal effort. HE's not perfect by a long shot, but he's better than the other two.
Yep, the perfect situation for a false sense of security among guns rights folk. Given that McCain's solution to everything is more federal power, hello Assault Weapons Ban II: Electric Boogaloo.
I found this interesting: http://www.ontheissues.org/2008/John_McCain_Gun_Control.htm Sooooooo... which is it?
we'll see. But if Barry O or Mrs. President end up in the White House it is guaranteed to be a law. McCain is just a maybe.
I don't think so. I think if the Dems control both the Executive and Legislative, they'll just pass the law anyways and let the courts sort it out. That'll give them a good 5 years worth of the ban right there, and maybe more if the court simply refuses to listen to the case.
Maybe. If Clinton lies, cheats and/or steals her way to the nomination (the only way she can still get it), then yes. McCain is an easy choice over her. If McCain were to choose Joe Lieberman as his VP (as if conservatives would allow it...highly doubtful), I'd be likely to vote for that ticket even against Obama. If McCain chooses a VP to his right (almost certain) and Obama manages the Dem nomination (almost certain), then no, I don't see me voting for McCain.
Yes I will. I wasn't even going to bother voting until I got reminded just how much worse the Dems and their flying monkeys are. I would like to thank the looney left of WF for the reminder. BTW, I wouldn't be opposed to a slight majority of Dems in Congress if he does win. Gridlock is always a good thing when it comes to government.
Yes, eh is the lesser of the evils. Whomever said that McCain is just like Bush has no earthy idea what they are talking about. McCain is not a mainstream republican by any sense of the word.
Like the gridlock of the past year or so? Especially with McCain's "bipartisanship" Oh wait... I'd much rather have a Democratic President and Republican Congress than the reverse. Nope, won't vote for McCain. I might consider voting for the Republican candidate for my House District, for the reason above.
This is McCain in a nut shell. Inconsistent, all over the board, and untrustworthy. Sometimes I wonder if he's actually crazy.
^One is his stance in 1999, the other is his stance in 2007. While I'd prefer a consistently pro-2nd McCain, he does say NOW that he is against the AWB. Will he hold to that once in office? Who can say? But I'd rather vote for the guy making the promise now and wind up a sucker later, than let someone committed to gun bans get in. The guy will HAVE to deliver if he wants my vote come re-election time.
Funny, you evoking the image of an Adolf. Hmmmm. Something on your mind? Talk to me about little Eichmann's, Eva. That'll be fun AND quote worthy.
I certainly do. He's another one of YOUR PEOPLE'S national disgraces. For most people, it might make them reconsider the old saying 'people in glass houses', but not you of course.
I considered voting for McCain in the event that Clinton gets the Democratic nomination, but I reconsidered and decided to probably vote for a third party candidate in that situation, or sigh tremendously.
No, not me. I don't care to elaborate because really, my keyboard is too valuable to be wasted on you, but no. Not me.
