ATF wont give any details linking the fires, but I fear that these may all be Black Churches that are being burned by White Supremist Groups

Obviously, these churches burned because they are dedicated to false gods and the One True God is punishing them.

Because, you know, bad things only happen to people who are in league with Satan.

I think this would be a better country if they burned all the churches everywhere. Many times what "we believe"(we being the church) and the word of God and Jesus is in direct conflict. I think one of the worst sins is those who try to Interpret the word of God, as though they could speak for him. Just sickening to me.

    Unlikely.

the Churches are refered to as "Baptist"

Black Baptist churches in the south are refereed to, almost always, as "Missionary Baptist"

I tend to be with you. If these had been black churches, the article would have said so. I've never seen a case of a series of black churches burning in which you have to look for the racial makeup of the churches -- and there's no follow up on whether or not America is becoming more racist.

Maybe it's just random. I dunno.:sorrow::sorrow: for the churches.

    I lived there.

Tyler and Athens at least in the early part of the decade were highly demographically white.

White people seldom bother black people in areas where they the whites are already the vast majority.

Churches have always been good targets for arson because they are vacant virtually all the time and unguarded.

An arsonist who retains enough sanity to not want to kill anyone can burn a church with little fear of committing felony murder.

Besides, the "church" is just a building with no intrinsic value. The true church is in the hearts of the followers of Christ.

Not just Baptist churches in this case, anyway. It's a moot point.
