No, I'm not talking about Barack Obama, I'm talking about a 1976 ad from Jimmy Carter. The eerie similarities between the two are even stronger than we realized! :soma:

I will not have Jimmy Carter criticised. He was one of the best presidents you have ever had.

Well, maybe not, but I always wondered what it would be like to be henryhill....

Yes, because I have expressed admiration for Carters presidency.

    Or not.

I liked Carter best when Acroyd played him on SNL.
I'm watching those episodes lately on DVD. What a blast.

Almost every person running for president promises hope and promises change, incumbents included. No one ever campaigns on "I'll leave things just the way they are, thank you very much." Rhetoric about change is always meaningless babble coming from a politician, and always should be ignored in favor of analysis of specific policy proposals.

Not me. I promise to make the first State of the Union Address wearing a Darth Vader Costume.

And to have George Lucas frozen in carbonite.

That's all wrong. Freezing him in carbonite would be honoring him. Now if you promised to freeze him in liquid nitrogen and close the U.S. budget deficit by auctioning off one shot from a rifle, that I'd support. :bergman:
