Good. Post it. Want me to open the forum and do the usergroup switchery, or will you do it?

I'll post the announcement and you can do the switchery.

Good job...but to be useful I think the Help! catagory needs to be back at the top of the page and Pandora's Box should be between Announcements and Frequently Asked Questions.

The Welcome Forum shouldn't be buried. And everyone knows where the red room is..they can bookmark it and just deal with it not being at the top of the page. Announcements, Pandora's Box, FAQ and Help Desk are much more important to be easy to find.

I'm assuming that Pandora's Box is going to be like the Green Room in terms of moderation? I just warned Dan Leach for flaming in that thread Face opened. Then I closed the thread.

    It's always something . . . :jayzus:

Ok, now that we've got two threads in there showing the worst side of WF, do we want to go ahead and move same to the Recycle bin?

Let’s lighten up a bit on the warnings in Pandora’s Box. It was nothing more than a couple members goofing off, having some fun in a new forum. We should add a stickied thread explaining the nature of the forum, maybe a link to FAQ and a link to who’s on staff.

Personally I'd start over, wipe the slate clean, rescind warnings and unlock threads.

Indeed, nothing wrong with admitting action might have been over-zealous.

Just make sure we have a big stickied thread.

The members in question are known trolls with histories of starting shit for the sake of starting shit. How many "breaks" are you gonna give em?

Well personally I intend to treat them exactly the same as any other poster.

^Which is exactly the way it should be. There's a big difference between knowing a members history and a staff member holding a grudge.

I'd go along with this, but I do think the threads should be binned. That is not the first impression we want to give people, is it?

And I don't think it's holding a grudge to recognize the reality that some members here just want to screw around with the boundaries because that is how they enjoy themselves and there is a difference between a purposeful repeat offender and someone who hardly ever makes a mistake.

Everyone deserves a break once in awhile, as long as it isn't about wanting to avoid enforcing the rules because a few people like to :shitstorm:

Okay, I've taken it upon myself to respond in the Help Desk and to post a stickied thread in Pandora's Box outlining the rules for that forum.

Thanks for the input from everyone. Yes, I know I'm not the admin or anything, but it looked to me like someone had to step up, so I did.

Goddam, Tamar, will you get your ass back in the saddle already? Or get Elwood to pick someone to be HMFIC?

Looks like you did a good job to me.

The whole point of expanding the abilities of the staff is so more gets done.

I'll come back early if I'm really needed, but it looks to me like you have it well in hand. The intro strikes just the right chord, IMO.

Now that we've got this forum up... onto the White Room?

I think bringing it back is a must.

If for no other reason than to not be run according to the whims of TK.

If we keep the forum hidden, join only and "18 and over" with the caveat we can not be 100% certain nor held responsible if minors do access the room, our butts should be covered.

It was a widely used and popular room. Time to bring it back...it is our anniversary month after all. Gifts galore and all that.

Has the concept of a writing contest gone any futher? Cass...were you going to take on that again? I'm sure we could get enough donations together for a decent prize or three. Maybe even cull the population for that again.
