So just to be clear, you are quite happy to play the whiny little bitch card, but you are not prepared to offer any alternate strategies that might improve what you think is so wrong with wordforge?

Looks more to me that you really don't care, you have grabbed this bone and are content to chew on it over and over despite no meat left on it. Really, without any alternate strategies, your argument falls down as nothing more than sustained trolling.

Its actually a shame because I don't think even those of us who support the four horseman, would disagree with the points you make about falling numbers of posters, and discussions permenantly on rinse repeat. Really, this could be turned into a good productive thread, but you have sadly shown you have no interest in improving wordforge and all you are after is teh drama.

Sometimes teh drama is a good thing. But yeah, more creativity next time would be good. I mean shit, Flashlight, this is a Volpone retread just a day after he did it himself for the fifth or sixth time. Where's the pride? Do something better than Volpone for damn sake!

Where have you been the last 10 years? teh Drama is the only thing that is consistently interesting about WF. As others have pointed out more eloquently than I, without new membership, WF has stagnated. The old-timers have grown bored with the same old arguments, because there's no mystery about what anyone's opinions are. So what gets people excited? teh Drama.

You want to excite people with more threads about gun control, abortion, ObamaCare, global warming? Good luck.

And again, I've never made any pledge to "improve" WF. I never made that my mission statement.

But, it's already been established what Anc's motivation is to characterize WF as worthless. And he's already tipped his hand as to his long game, as I'll elaborate later today.

So what is your mission statement? From what I can see its either

- whine, bitch and moan about the owners; or
- you are an elaborate plant by the owners to introduce some kind of pantomime villain with no end game rather than appear to antagonise the staff.

Come to think of it, maybe this has been Anc/Guls plan all along. Maybe Volpone is also in on it and that's why he pussied out of staff so quickly and kept the reasons to himself.

I think Stallion has exposed the current plot. Expect it to be replaced by something still more bizarre and unpredictable in 3, 2, 1...

If it wasn't for the occasional thread where Paladin takes on 4 lefty hyaenas or really anything that's not a garamet/Castle back-and-forth, there wouldn't be much left.

Let me clear this bit up right now. Altho we use the shorthand that I "sold" the board and Anc "bought" it, no money changed hands. What happened is I stopped paying for stuff and the new guys started. They paid for the software license, the server space, the domain registration, and so forth. I no longer pay for that, altho I have retained the old server against a (probably never to be realized) intention of building a site there.

It is funny. For someone as allegedly bright as you are supposed to be, you sure can be stupid when you want to. I spent months making suggestions that were met with "Quit being a pussy. This is the way it has always been. You're just unhappy that the shoe's on the other foot now. I won. Get in the back of the bus." So I left. And you were all like "Why did you leave? I don't understand."--even after everyone from Tamar to Mrs. Flow (to say nothing of me) pretty much fine-lined it.

It is fitting that you have The Obama as your avatar. Like him, you're clearly a professed intellectual who isn't as bright as the resume indicates but believes he is better at telling people how to live their lives than they are. And like Obama, you seem to think the way to bail out a leaking dingy is to start drilling holes in the bottom to let out the water. And when someone tries to suggest that might not be the brightest thing to do, you get all butthurt and do the "I must just not be explaining myself well enough" snobbery.

Actually, so afar as I'm able to tell, you haven't been explaining yourself at all. You're just saying, "This sucks! You need to fix it!" and when people ask, "What sucks?" you respond with, "Everything!" When asked how to fix it you say, "You know, fix it!"

In the absence of any explanation from Volpone I'll submit my idea and he can feel free to disprove by posting his real thinking:

This is nothing new. The bitching goes back to when Neg Rep was taken away. Volpone enjoyed joining Sokar and others using in rep and dog piling to shut down posters and topics they didn't agree with. It was one tool of many they used to drive people off who they didn't like (Sokar even had a list in his signature) and shut down discussions they didn't like. When Rep was taken away, not only did they lose a tool, but some of the gang left (remember the US Message Boards push?). The lower numbers of dogpile gang members meant that those they disagreed with weren't just shouted down immediately. In fact people were actually engaging in discussion, sometimes reaching conclusions Volpone and others didn't agree with! The horror! Then when ownership changed, even more of the dogpile gang took off. Now if someone posts something Volpone doesn't like, posters are engaging and discussing the issue instead of one the gang immediately jumping in, insulting the poster and then four or five others joining in and high fiveing and talk about stupid liberals are; effectively shutting it down.

Volpone's just pining after the good ole Kikeymikey days, and being one of the few that actually does pine for them feels left out and bitter.

Now, that's a pretty pathetic and childish thing to get all butthurt about, I mean, how thin skinned do you have to be to be crying about not being about to run people off or shut down conversations on a discussion board? He knows this which is why he refuses to articulate his hostility. He knows that if he did he'd just be an even greater board laughing stock.

I'm impressed by your fore-knowledge regarding people who will never return. That's some impressive psychic ability, knowing the future like that.

How long do you hang around a place if you're not enjoying yourself? If it's no longer entertaining most adults just look for a new place to hang out. Probably the only reason you still see Volpone and the handful like him who still bother is because of how much Wordforge has been a part of our lives for so long...11 years in July.
