Got this from a facebook friend... NO excuses, folks. Don't drink and drive- and don't ride with anybody who does. Tipsy Tow offered by AAA: You don't have to be a AAA member, from 6pm-6am on New Year's Eve/Day they will take your drunk self and your car home for FREE. Save this number... 1-800-222-4357. Please re-post this if you don't mind to help save lives. Nationwide.

Put the number in your phone before you head out tonight!

    ---------

Yes, I'm c/p from Facebook but this is just a friendly reminder to take it easy out there, have fun, and if you get carried away, there's help.

Problem is we can't control WHO he'd kill. Now if we could make sure he killed a deserving :terrorist: or such, then okay. But he might just kill the one person who'd turn this country around, fix the economy and cure cancer. And THEN where'd we be?

...because some human lives are worth more than others. A noble sentiment from a medical professional. I wonder if your patients know how you feel?

That said, good on AAA for doing this! It's not always the DUIs that take themselves out of the gene pool (in fact, more often than not, they're the ones who walk away with a few scratches while others die), and the fewer casualties on any night, the better.

No, sure, it's much wiser and more enlightened to consider the life of a child-raping cannibal to be of equal value to a schoolteacher. Either you are implying exactly that or you do recognize a heirarchy.

You seem to be under the impression that (A) I am a medical practitioner who (B) treats [Ethnic/Religious Group apostle83, Good Christian That He Is, Despises].

In both instances, you are mistaken.

Do you disagree that a medical professional's hierarchy should begin with the Hippocratic oath?

What does the oath have to say about offhand commentary on message boards? Not a fucking thing, I'll wager. But I'm sure Hippocrates was totally into your petty little "perception is reality" view of things.

I know a good number of people in the medical field and, while they'll bust their tails to save every life, they definitely have some strong opinions about who truly deserves the effort.

And that's the sort of affirmation I was looking for.

    Of course you do.

But then...that starts to get philosophically tricky.

What if the guy who cures cancer is a sperm in the terrorist's balls?

Woody Harrelson's dad was a scumbag murderer, kill him too soon, no "Zombieland", no "People vs. Larry flint", no "Kingpin", all kinds of good shit goes.

Not all of them were doctors and not all of them took the Hippocratic oath. It's just the kind of people they are. They value life.

And I'm aware that nurses do not take the Hippocratic oath, nor are you necessarily speaking exclusively about medical professionals.

I also seldom take anything Muad says seriously anymore.

What I was looking for was an affirmation from LizK that she doesn't pass judgment on a patient before deciding to treat him.

But then Mr. Tapatalk and the Ginger Buttinski had to horn in.

I don't drink and drive. I know my limit. I never drink over 2 beers if I have to drive somewhere. Or stick to the 1 beer an hour rule if I have to be the sober one. Usually though I just have an booze at home and if we eat out and I have more than 2 beers, the bride drives home. Its not that hard to stay within the law for that. I weigh about 210 right now and it would take 4 beers drank in a hurry to get me near the limit. These fuckers that crash their cars or kill someone and blow a .15 have been at it pretty hard.

Why don't you take prohibition and shove it up your ass sideways. I don't drink over the legal limit and drive and rarely drive at all after I have drank because I am usually at home.
If everybody drove like me, there would not be any accidents and there would not be any need for dwi laws.

    Prohibition?

    Dipshit.

You said you did NOT drink and drive.

But you DO drink and drive, you just don't get plastered and drive. Which, I frankly question as if you've drank ANYTHING then your judgement is probably compromised, even if it's a little it can make a big difference.

    oh bullocks.
everybody wails and beats their breasts when the deceased of a drunk driver is child or such. nobody wails when the deceased is the drunk. and if the drunk is the one who could do the world some good when he was sober.....
reread the sentence. I never once labeled WHO the deceased was, now did I?
