I am looking for some assistance in purchasing a new truck. My Silverado is now 12 years old and has a almost 250,000 miles and assorted bumps, gashes and rust associated with " he-man truck stuff":azure: But in order to replace a 3/4 ton 4 wheel drive, with some basic accessories it will run over $40,000.00 So I went to the Affordable Car Act web site and signed up. I wonder what kind of help I can expect from POTUS How the hell did a basic mode of transportation end up costing well over what I initially paid for a house and a chunk of land? This thing is basically built by robots anyways isn't it? So after some initial start-up technology and engineering - don't these things work for free basically? Needless to say - If I don't get some assistance from Obama; me and my old ride will soon hit 300,000 each....
Apply for a bailout instead - it's much faster! BTW "if you like your truck, you get to keep your truck."
Nice! No frills, dependable, and I can see over/around it in a parking lot. I'll take that over a soccer-mom tank and day of the week! I can throw a deer in the back and later hose it out before my wife can bitch about the mess.
This thread is interesting to me, as I'm currently in the market for a logging truck with a knuckle boom.
Man truck?! That's a fuckin' pirate truck. Not that there's any thing wrong with that, but that fucker needs a mast.
The neighbor behind me has a two-tone orange (the old factory colors) from that same generation in nearly new condition. If it weren't a Ford, I'd love to have it. Before anyone opens up, Ford made a fine product in those trucks. It's just the way they're engineered. It makes no sense to me and I'm left scratching my head as to why it was designed that way. But, with GM's C/K series ('67-'72, and '73-'87), the engineering just makes sense to me.
