America was "doomed" from the time that crazy bunch of rebels signed the Declaration of Independence, simply because no political entity lasts forever. But your post says much more about you than it does about American politics.

Have you even read the American constitution? Do you know that thing called "Congress" that passes laws? And those people do have to worry about re-election. Not to mention that they're all over the map politically, with the Republicans controlling the House of Representatives. Sure, they're just as much a bunch of power-hungry, corrupt politicians as the Democrats, but at least it's in a different way, so the Democrats can't do everything they would like.

If the Democrats controlled the White House and all of Congress, I would think we were in for more trouble. If the Republicans controlled it all, I would think we were in for more trouble. But with divided power in the federal government, your post is just plain nonsense. You simply don't know how the American system works. It is not a parliamentary system like most other Western countries, and I personally am very glad for that.

We have passed the tipping point.
