While I'm definitely against the beret as the common soldier's regular headgear, I find it much more appealing than the atrocity that those Brits are wearing on their heads. I also find the Army dress blues to be much more appealing than those redcoats' outfits.
Agreed about the beret. And it definitely shouldn't be a part of the dress uniform. This is what they should have on their heads:
I like the dress blues, but no. It's too functional, as stupid as that sounds. It's just too busy. I think something changed now that they're the phasing out the green service uniforms, but I can't quite put my finger on it.
I wear a really sharp looking wooljean double breasted frock coat and a really sharp infantry blue kepi. The kepi was specially made for me by the guy who made the kepis for Gods and Generals and he made Jude Law's kepi for Cold Mountain.
So students are banned for displaying the US flag at an American School but it's welcomed at Red Square.
