You have "concerns"? Then express them, without the trolling and flaming and outright lies. Otherwise you have earned condescension for your own behavior long before 2016, and you deserve every bit of it. Act like an adult for once. Impress us.
You forgot the undecided voters, who make it a special challenge to somehow see both Trump's bullshit, and unvarnished fact, and still not manage to come to a decision. It concerns me because I'm watching a town of regular Republican voters become more like Trump sycophants every day. I'm starting to think it's a communicable disease.
I definitely think CNN oversteps their role from time to time, in fact they can get downright embarrassing to be honest, but the fact that Trump acts like he’s the first president to be asked hard questions and the way he reacts to them is really lame. Man the fuck up And if he’s trying to “troll” the media that’s even worse
This. I agree with @shootER when it comes to the media being presented as respectable, and reliable. It's just I figure if they're going to be damned, be damned for doing the forthright thing and call the fucker out on his bullshit. If he's going to troll, make him work for it.
I agree. It's hard to respect the office of the President when the guy occupying it acts like a child in need of a time out.
I think Politico mostly nails my view of Acosta (or at least what he's become). Good overall article, too.
Sure, this guy Acosta's a "journalist." Calling him a "journalist" is not a ridiculous statement because of his antagonistic belligerence while posing as a grown up reporter when Trump calls on him for a question. It's what was revealed from the hard hitting reporting by Acosta when he asked his questions of Obama: “it seems that you’ve built up some political capital for the remaining months of your presidency,” before asking: “What hard things do you want to tackle at this point?” [Never mind that Acosta was on his knees at the time and had to wipe his chin afterwards. NOTE: dicky's gfy was *before* I added the closing parenthetical, heh. Guess he's a fan of this clown or DNN or both.]
I find that the right feels that anything but complete and total agreement is the only barely acceptable way to behave by the left. They fail to recognize that addressing a blatantly wrong point does not mean losing your mind and agreeing with it. when people are wrong addressing their concern often means explaining things to them like why the earth is not flat. Agreeing with them that the earth is flat and succumbing to the stupid is not addressing their concerns. That is just being a moron with them. We have all tried with flashy to address his incorrect concerns with civil and polite corrections only to find it is hard to deal with an idiot being wrong pleasantly as they take offense to being corrected, and if you accomplish it they give you no credit for being polite. Even the most polite people to dim bulb get yelled at for having the nerve to disagree with his stupid. You cannot win with them. it is just a lie they like to use that everyone else is mean when they cannot muster the littlest bit of civility or synapse function.
Just like Avenatti, Acosta is angling for a prime-time talker. He's got libtard street cred now, and lots of name recognition.
They spent a long time trying to be civil and ignore the fucked nature of trump. These are not journalists. They are people who kiss ass for access. There is no acceptable behavior from trump with the media aside from completely bowing and kissing his ring. Anything below lying for him and spreading his falsehoods as the truth is met with a tantrum. The mainstream news has taken years to realize there is no acceptable level of actual journalism with him. He has even gone after faux news for not kissing his ring good enough. When faux news won't spread your propaganda as the republican you have crossed a mountain of bullshit that should never be crossed. Sarah Huckabee sanders has not been able to stay with trump on all of his lies, and she has been the best bullshit spewing bovine the right can find. I call her bovine because only a cow could shit such pure bullshit. CNN is not journalism in the slightest, but when they are getting too tough for you then your lies are really obvious. CNN could not even handla a fake bloody head from a comedian. CNN and MSNBC are the apology networks who's only purpose is to kneel before zod to make zod feel good. Trump has no idea what real journalism is, and he cannot even deal with the pleasant people on their knees. Putin wishes his news was as weak as CNN.
well that's calling 'em as you see 'em right there! I can't argue with that realistic assessment of the news these days! Seriously the 24/7 news cycle sounded like a great idea at the time, but the amount of actual news hasn't really changed all that much in the past 25 years or so. So the news gets repeated and spun and mangled and reformed and discussed and turned into entertainment. BTW I went on the tour of CNN in Atlanta and it's pretty interesting and worth a visit for anyone with some time to kill in Atlanta.
I’m waiting for Ted Turner to die so I can piss on his grave for inventing CNN nearly 40 years ago, not 25.
Momocon uses the hall of fame hotels across the street so the center's food court gets taken over by con kids. It is a nice area with the awful house for late night food. Some of dragon con also uses those hotels but they are a walk from the con area. It is a nice place, but I felt like the sickness of CNN was sleeping into me. I do want to ride on the Ferris wheel in the area, but they close way too early.
Ted turner is one of the reasons you have to pay for expensive channels that you never watch but you have to waste large hours flipping by because you cannot get rid of them but still have to pay for them. Has anything good come from that man?
Turner Classic Movies. Thanks to that channel, many of the best classic films are kept alive for new audiences. Otherwise? Not much.
yes I know he invented CNN about 40 years ago but the real boost to the 24/7 cycle was the Gulf War. So many people who rarely ever watched the news became CNN addicts almost overnight. Fox News really got a boost in a similar manner during the 2003 version of the war. I'd never heard of Sheppard Smith until I saw his mug on TV constantly when I was (ironically) in the damn war watching myself in the war...... https://www.cnn.com/2016/03/01/politics/wolf-blitzer-gulf-war-iraq-kuwait-cnn/index.html
You know, I'm looking back at my posts on this issue, and I think I'll moderate them somewhat. I think @shootER is correct in that while what Trump did was wrong, Acosta got himself caught in a troll trap and was easy bait because he couldn't rein it back in.
weird I don't remember anything about the OJ trial! True I might have been on my second tour of Korea around that time - it's pretty much a blur.
And the mouthpiece who gave us "alternative facts" weighs in on the Sunday talk shows: Kellyanne Conway: 'That's Not Altered. That's Sped Up' "He either put his hands on her and grabbed the mic [from] her or he did not and he clearly did," Conway says of the much-ballyhooed video showing CNN reporter Jim Acosta resisting the mic-grab of an administration intern, per Rolling Stone. "...Well that's not altered. That's sped up. They do it all the time in sports to see if there's actually a first down or a touchdown." That's right, Sweetums. Because truth is just like football, and sped up is altered.
