We don't have quite that feature, but you can draw the attention of another user by tagging him twitter-like, eg @Zombie
Well, you wouldn't want to get your own attention, but say you are having a discussion and you remember that @Nova had some useful knowledge on the subject, or was interested in the topic, or whatever, you could easily get her attention.
Yeah, aside from the first couple days when people are just figuring it out, if posters abuse it they can have their tagging privileges revoked.
Hmm, I liked the subscribed thread list better than alerts. I wonder if there's a place to see all unread posts specifically in threads you've watched? Or a list of watched threads with unread posts like on vB?
There's a technical issue with it being visible to guests, so its temporarily hidden from everyone until the problem can be sorted out.
Still very buggy, but I think I can live with it once the bugs are out. BTW, I noticed that if you go to the list of members and sort them by number of "likes," the results are almost nothing at all like what they were for rep points before the board moved. If that can't be sorted out, I suggest a rep reset in the near future. Besides, that would drive Volpone crazy after all his hard work, and that's always something positive.
Unlikely. Before the reset, Tex had between 12,000 and 12,999 points. As of the move, he had between 1000 and 1249 points. That would give him, at most, 14,248 points. But the software says he has 117,156 points. Before the reset, I had 13,651 points. As of the move, I had 2,968 points. Since the move, I have received 1. That should make a total of 16,620. Instead, it says I have 13,426 (less than before the reset). Muad Dib, likewise, had something between 25,000 and 29,999 rep points before the reset. (Back then, he was the one benefiting from the rep cabal's tricks.) Just before the move, he had between 3,000 and 3,249 points. Now, he has 23,493. Less than before the reset, but significantly more than before the move. I could multiply the examples, but the point is that none of them add up.
Ok, my list of small requests once everything else is settled in:- 1) Can we bring back the newer logo that was at Testingforge before, or, at the least another new one? The old one looks shit. 2) Any chance that the avatar display size can be made a little bigger? 3) Can the rep system be made more dynamic, a la our discussions on the tes board (I appreciate that this probably isn't you fully explored)?
Like the almost-Odelay theme. But it's 2013, please get rid of the color gradients. Flat. Flat is good. For now at least. Until the next fad comes around. Another little gripe I see is that the board takes a second or so to respond to clicks. Maybe just a testing thing but it's annoying (and not related to my internet connection). Can't see the Blue Room.
I knew that I'm used to the reply button taking me to the new post page as opposed to functioning as the quick-reply field's quote. Ok, other gripe: I had gotten eight reps right before the server switch and I never had the chance to look them over
It's not the rep points I was worried about; it was seeing which posts resonated with people. :repwhine:
