    Gimme some context and I'll let you know. In a nutshell, though, the Constitution clearly defines the roles and power of the FedGov, and then the 10th Amendment CLEARLY states that all powers not covered in the Constitution are held by the states and/or the people.

    There is no money in the SS vaults.

    They simply take the money they collect from the current workers and pass it on to the retired people.

    Sure a bunch of bonds are issued as IOU's and sure we've never defaulted before but they way things are going? Yeah we are going to be defaulting soon.

    They won't have a choice.

    Disagree. Because even at the state level, it's still not the job of the government (read- taxpayers) to provide for you in your golden years/dotage. It's the job of the individual and his or her family to handle those responsibilities.
