Will be no more MGS and the last one isn't coming to the 360, believe they stopped making the 60GB PS3's and moving all the stocks of it from rest of the world to the US to support the price thing that got going. Bout 6 million units if what was said was true and it's been batted around that the other one will have a price cut before xmas as they worked out some of the knicks in the building process.
Sony to phase out cut-price PS3 Sony under fire over 60Gb PS3 phase-out (this article has some backwards numbers or something, if you look at NPD numbers near bottom of article) $100 more for 20GB of space? Ouch. Even MS gives 100GB more, plus some other features for $80 extra.
Only Sony would think that people would want to pay $5 per gigabyte. Christ, are they hooked on crazy pills or something? Of course, even with the price jump, Sony will still be the best gaming system because of the fine games of Glorious Nippon where you can pretend to be something that either looks like a 14-year-old boy or a 14-year-old girl with enormous breasts and wield a sword large enough to land planes on.
Well, I do like JRPGs... when I first saw Cloud's sword in FFVII, I was thinking "Damn, that's a big sword, he must have a complex".
So now you are projecting a biased viewpoint based on a niche upon an entire sector of gaming, making false statements and wild accusations. I think that perhaps you've seen a bit too much hentai and you forgot what Japanese culture is really about (bukake and giant robots, what else?). If you think that seeing scantily clad character models that have large shapely breasts and that are portrayed as younger than they probably should be in video games is bad, and would not play them based on that factor then I will personally go to your house and punch you in the jaw if you ever claim to have played DOA (and enjoyed it) and if you own DOA Beach Volley Ball I'll give ya a kick to the junk for good measure*. Your exaggeration and determination to segregate us as gamers disturbs me. *Disclaimer: Do NOT take any comments seriously, if you feel legitamitely threatened I apologize for it was a joke. If you can't accept that indirect of an apology PM me your PH# and I will apologize verbally. Done warn me BAILEY! Hugs and Kisses.(In a totally hetero way.)
I bought the 360 cause it was much cheaper, and from what I've seen I prefer the XB Live interface to Sony's. I don't really care much about Blu-Ray or HD, so that was a factor as well. And I'm still waiting...waiting patiently...for KOTOR 3....any day now....annnnnny day now....
Well, my friend's uncle picked up a PS3 the other day and I watched him diddle about on it. Just doesn't appeal to me much, but that may be due to the familiarity factor.
Well, I don't think Home has been actually released yet, it's still in Beta testing. What you probably saw was Sony's pitiful online service that's in place currently.
Ah, that explains it then. Huh. WHy would they release the PS3 if the online capability isn't even availible yet?
On the contrary, they do have online services available, what they are building now is the network for Home. Home looks really cool, and promises to be at the very least, more engaging than the XBL interface. If I could find any sites to link to it I would, but since I'm at work and my network blocks gaming sites....
Shit, every demo and trial arcade game I play on my 360 asked me to buy shit, what is wrong with an interactive microcosm that offers clothing, home decor and other such for a fraction of a dollar apiece? If you look past the microtransactions, and had a fancy for games like Animal Crossing Home could be a fun place to meet and greet people before thwomping their ass in an online match of Killzone 2.
Really, every demo asks you to buy something? Trials, yes... of course, but they're still trials, you only buy the game if you really want it. Though, it is a matter of fact, XBLA has a lot of really great titles for under $10. XBL you don't have to buy themes for your XB or gamer pictures, as you can design your own and I personally don't think they're worth the $1 (even then some are free)... but putting clothing, trophy room, home decor is worth cash? I don't think so. Personally, I don't just hang out with people on my console. If I want to play a game over Live, I look some people up or invite people from my friends list. Or I call them on the phone and say, get yo ass online for some Crackdown or something. It could be cool, but kids playing consoles, don't have enough cash to blow on a virtual apartment. Those who actually shelled out the $500-600 for their PS3, probably aren't to whipped up about shelling out more cash for fancy virtual room sofas. I could be wrong though, could be very wrong!
Huh, it does look interesting. But it's not really what I'm looking for, ya know? I don't want a massive real-life Sims thing, I just wanna sign online and play games with other people. I'm not really interested in knowing who they are. And I certainly don't want to do all my "socializing" on the net, with idealized versions of real people. I just...wanna play games.
I'm sure it'll catch on with some communities and some people, really depends on if you want Second Life for your console or if you want to get in a game and go, like you do with a PC. But, the two consoles are geared that way as well. Whereas PS3 owners, many were always console owners. XBox 1 and 360, were a lot of PC Gamers converted to console gamers.
The people I see actually taking the most advantage of the microtransactions on Home are the people who enjoyed things like The Sims and Animal Crossing. I'm a customization whore, and the idea of a modifiable pad to show to my gamer buddies tickles me pink.
I finally made the decision and bought a PS2 today. For $129 at Target, you cant really beat that. I've noticed that alot of the games for this machine are really getting cheap too ($10-20 range)
That's been my main use for it, too. That, and catching up on PS2 games that I skipped over last go round. Most of the better games are already on the 360 outside of Resistance. Oh, and they have a remake of a game that's already been out on the Xbox twice. Plus some racing games. I'm hoping some good games will start coming out for it. Heavenly Sword might be interesting. Killzone 2 might be good, but I'm not getting my hopes set too high for that one after how the first game turned out. There's also MGS4 and FFXIII if you're into that. I'm surprised I bought the system in some ways seeing as how much I hate games both of those franchises.
I actually had a nightmare that I got a PS3 for Christmas. Then I was like... what am I gonna do with a PS3?
Well, I qualify as a Final Fantasy junkie, but I'm not gonna pay 500+ bucks to continue the ride. I'll probably just illegally download the soundtrack when it comes out and then play the games when the PS3 price inevitably falls in four or five years. That is, if the stock market doesn't crash between now and then.
