Rumors seem to be abound that the Democrats are about give up their electoral chances in the swing state of Ohio. Consider the following statements, in the Atlantic: We know from before that Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Chris Van Hollen has said his members 'if the success of your race looks unlikely, you will not be receiving any money from the DCCC. You will have to fend for yourselves.' Such statements were explained away as a matter of "scarce resources." (Of course, pay no mind to the fact that Obama still has about $30 million left from his 2008 campaign, but no doubt wants to keep that for himself, even as other Democrats are in trouble). Are we now seeing the threats made by Democrat Van Hollen against other Democrats come to fruition? Are Ohio Democrats about to be abandoned by their Washington overlords? Are Democrats pulling out from Ohio? Consider also the following tweet from Public Policy Polling: Not polling Ohio again this cycle? Is the situation really that bad? Why are the major Democratic organizations which fund campaigns and provide assistance considering pulling out of Ohio? Why is one of the major Democratic polling firms saying they won't poll Ohio again this cycle? What does it all mean? Could it be that Democrats are about to retreat from the ax-swinging swing state of Ohio?
Have they been predicting the loss of Ohio to the dems for a while now or is this a very recent development?
