Well that is just way too long. But I think it fails right off the bat, by assuming that the three dates happen for no other reason than the eventual sexual encounter. When I dine out, I enjoy that for its own sake, same with any of the other activities feeding in to the $400 price tag. Then I also get sex? Sounds good to me. Whereas the prostitute means I get sex. If you view sex as strictly transactional, in which one person wants it and the other is willing to exchange it for money and/or goods, I suppose this makes sense.

So by your own math, you're pretty much guaranteed an STD (also, it's HIV that you catch, not AIDS). Also there are other STDs. Also many of these statistics are simply wrong. HIV transmission rates are .25-1% for unprotected heterosexual sex, which is 1 in 100-400, not 1 in 700. (either way, 33,333 is substantially larger). Also only ~1/3 of Americans have herpes, not 80%, and most of those have oral herpes rather than genital herpes (either can appear in either location, but genital herpes in either location is decidedly worse). The 80% number sounds more like the 90% of people who have had HPV of some sort.

Oh, and if you really want to make prostitution safer for everyone involved, the real solution is to decriminalize prostitution, not to legalize it. Because legalization leads to regulation, which again criminalizes the prostitutes that can't or won't comply with said regulations.

There are a few points of the OP that I sorta agree with, but they got lost in the ocean of bullshit attached to them.

If we view dating as purely transactional, which it isn't, then you can get less expensive, more frequent and better sex out of a girlfriend than a prostitute in the medium term. (I'm not sure why the OP thinks dates cost so much. They could, but they don't have to.) The prostitutes might be nominally more beautiful, but sex tends to be better quality with someone you like and are invested in emotionally. And after you start having sex with a girlfriend, instances of it tend to come pretty liberally. It's true that the same partner may get boring in the long term, but that's the case for having serial medium-term relationships or polyamory, not necessarily prostitution.

Yes I heard about that incident. I used to live near Dothan - I am not surprised really. But to be fair at one point in negotiating a price he did actually open up his wallet and offer six (not a typo, six) US dollars. That guy must be a real wild man at strip clubs! This may be why Alabama doesn't allow strip clubs - it would turn into a zoo.

I'm a realist - I have nothing against hookers unless they are being exploited by pimps or other criminals. Granted no man would prefer a hooker. Ideally the best situation to be in (although incredibly dangerous) is a married woman. That way you damn well know they are with you because they are really into you, because they already have a man to "take care of them". Not only that but they are putting some skin in the game (no pun intended) by risking what they have to be with you. Call me a hopeless romantic, but that's what I call love!
