Video at link http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-21468116 Wow, I wish something like that would happen here, without the injuries....
I distinctly told Lanz to test his meteor attractor in an unihabited region! Lanz, since when do you think central Russia is uninhabited?
Oh and before anyone thinks there is a link, this incident is almost certainly NOT linked to asteroid 2012da14 which is making the close pass this evening.
first Tungunska.. and now this.. I would say Russia has pissed God off.. and he is obviously toying with them.. until the "Big One" comes.. then....... just like the dinosaurs....
Kickass! That video raises the bar on Forbin's NJ commutes, that's for sure! Anyway, this along with that century's old (or so) giant explosion over Siberia makes you think somebody's out to get these people!
That fisheye was screwing with me -- it looked like the meteor was coming head on toward the car in one of the shots!
Meteor storm........................or DRONE STRIKES? Well played, President Obama......well played indeed!
I wonder if Rick will be eager to tell us there's no danger of an asteroid impact? Oh, btw, looks like I've finally worked all the kinks out of the asteroid attractor ray. Just gotta work on the targeting . . .

I love it when nature sends a clear message that we're not as important or in control as we think we are.
The thread title made me think that there were a bunch of meteors that were large enough to impact and the result was people being hit by meteor fragments from those impacts. But I guess this was kind of cool too. The way the light effects the camera as it approaches seems like a movie depicting moments before an unsuspecting city is hit with a nuclear strike.
Initial reports were that it was several meteors, that has now been revised down to a single air-burst.
[yt=Check out this video]Fs6sj6xAzeg[/yt] "Hey cutie, I'm just heading out. Wanna go back in the storage closet for a quick fuck?" "Ha ha. Only if you promise to grab my small breats." BAM!!! "Holy shit! The world's coming to an end! Let's get outta here and fuck before it's all over!"
I'm not very knowledgeable about such things, but here's my theory: There have always been, and always will be, a high incidence of so-called near misses, but; For two objects hurtling through space at high speed to actually hit one another is particularly less likely, especially when near misses are defined in terms of millions of miles; Therefore, the likelihood of being hit by a major meteor is extremely remote. History backs this conclusion, as there is only evidence of a small number of catastrophic meteor strikes.
