has anyone heard of these programs that use your unused programming power while you're away? my little brother showed me this program that is available for the PS3 now that can take the unused processing power in your PS3 or computer and use it towards research in several different studies. i recently signed up for this one --->www.worldcommunitygrid.org

has anyone else done this? does anyone know how they use our computers for their research? i read up on the research they are doing, but i'm wondering how exactly they can use my computer to do their work.

my roommate does protein folding at home, i've read about seti@home. WCG does many different programs through one application. i think running programs now are cancer, aids, african climate(wtf?), and protein folding.
