At this point, is there a difference between the Red Room and TNZ?

I find you annoying and offensive in general, but no you haven’t directly offended me that I can think of.

I was just trying to get you to admit the premise of the thread was BS.

Obviously if you are banned at one place and not the other then there is a difference right there.

Thanks. You're an colorful character to say the least but to each his own. Regardless, the premise was not BS. But thx for your reply anyway.

I never looked closely at the av until now, but I think this was from a number of years ago when some active duty folks or activists took pics of themselves crapping on the flag after the Ferguson murdering cop got off. TLS thinks he's witty or something :garamet:

    Wait wait wait

I realize and acknowledge that this is may be a specious argument to make, but please humor me: Which side is much more gung-ho with military adventurism and which side feels less compelled to fund social safety nets?

You mean which side will defend our country and which side wants a welfare state?

Both are too simplistic and reductionist claims to make.
On the end of defense, a good argument could be made against the Soviets (especially with the Cuban Missile Crisis), but the last direct physical threat and attack to the US was from Japan during WWII, with Pearl Harbor, the Philippines, and the bombing in Oregon. Outside of the again mentioned USSR issues, and of course, the correct response to 9/11, the defense argument falls a bit flat.

As for a welfare state argument, what good is a government that can't or is unwilling to take care of its domestic issues, and then goes on to chastise other governments on their human rights problems? That makes us come across as hypocrites, and that's one thing Christ didn't like.

Been there many times for vacation, work, and just plain fun. Most recently January of 2019 for a week. Started out in Palo Alto and ended up in Newport Beach. Also, went to see my Rams beat the Cowboys in a playoff game. Met some great people at the tailgate party beforehand...met some Mexicans who were awesome and invited us to share their amazing food. Never suspected Modelo was as popular is it is in LA. Great time.

I've also done the wine country thing with my wife...rented a mustang convertible and drove down to San Diego, hitting SF, Monterey, LA, Disney, along the way. Old town San Diego had amazing food. Those were the days.

Old Town is great. I miss having the work travel budget to go to the Plant and Animal Genome conference these days, though January never works well for me timing-wise anyway due to the university exam period. Learnt my lesson about staying in the Town & Country (the conference centre) though - go the other side of the freeway and walk over, much cheaper. Though the main appeal of Old Town (cheap margeritas) has become not so cheap.

I never claimed to be exciting, and I don't believe I ever said I hate California. If I did, my bad. I hate what's been done to California by the politicians there.

    Junior.

I had been living and working in Europe for a number of years, spoke two languages fluently and was working on two others, and was making my own way in the world, when you were still in high school. And I still wonder what Jesus thinks of your post.

    Do you?

I did. What makes you think I didn't? Jumping to conclusions with insufficient information is a good way to show how little you know of what is actually going on.

Are you wondering yet what Jesus thinks of your post? I notice that you've been avoiding that issue, and simply trying to subtly insult me in one way or another (and failing miserably, I might add).

I have no problem whatsoever with people who make no claim to being disciples of Jesus not acting like disciples of Jesus. They are being consistent with their professed beliefs. But when someone claims to be a disciple of Jesus and acts in a way that thoroughly dishonors Jesus, I have a problem with that. Because small minds that like to lump everyone together use that as an excuse to claim that all Christians are like that, and thus by implication that Jesus himself must have been like that. Even though their reasoning is a major logical fallacy, I still see no reason to give them any excuse for trying it.

So perhaps you ought to think about it: What does Jesus think of the post you made?

@TheLonelySquire has been called out on his "Christianity" numerous times. He never defends himself. In his reality, we're not people, just pixels on a screen, and Jesus doesn't read the Internet.

It may well be that it is just a sort of troll, pretending to be a Christian, since he obviously understands so little of what Jesus actually taught. It wouldn't be the first time someone on an internet forum tried to pretend to be something they weren't, in order to discredit the group in question.

Possibly. Recently he's been pretending to be black. He hasn't claimed to be a Muslim or a woman, but wait for it.

To answer the OP: the difference between TNZ and the RR is, we're still tolerating his sorry ass. But to quote Lawrence Block (one of my favorite mystery writers): "Eventually he'll trip over his cock, and we'll get him."
