Anybody on WF feeling old? I am (at times). Stan Ridgway wrote a song about it! Yes, the same Stan Ridgway from "Mexican Radio" but he's all growed up now! Enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpvWV28zjDw
[YT="Alabama Shakes - Hold On"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Le-3MIBxQTw[/YT] [YT="Shakes again - Boys and Girls"] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PR0SW_fWLT0[/YT] The love child of John Popper from Blues Traveler, Janis Joplin, and the tall guy from Penn and Teller? Regardless, nice to see a female singer not getting by on her sexy body alone. And I'm betting this band won't be lip-synching anytime soon.
Another remedial lesson in YT code is in order: quote or edit your post. See the address for the video you posted in the code? This part: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Le-3MIBxQTw You don't use ALL of that for the code to work right. Just use the part that comes AFTER the"=" To wit: Le-3MIBxQTw Otherwise, you had it right- The opening code, like this but without the space: [ yt= name you want to appear on the gray bar close the ] paste the bit I mentioned - Le-3MIBxQTw [/yt] Here it is all together and you can click on quote forthis post and seeit spelled out: [yt=Alabama Shakes]Le-3MIBxQTw[/yt] By the way, that's a helluva song!
Whoa...I don't refuse to learn it! I'll just have print out what he said to do (I can't do anything with more than one step unless I write it out and review it as I go). That said, next time I do a Youtube wrap it should be fine.
[yt=First Barry McGuire hit]pFHowy1hjjY[/yt] about 1961 - 1962 he is in the middle of song "ease 'er down and take it slow" unmistakable voice... at 1:10, 1:26, 1:49 and 2:23 in song
Shit like this makes me feel old. There were a couple years at the end of college/after college while I was working at the Port and waiting tables where my apartment was the center of our circle of friends, and even a wider circle of acquaintances. Every weekend 3 to 5 people sleeping over, every night about 20 people in and out, just stopping by b/c our place the was place to stop by and hang out and see what was happening.... Fucking EPIC times... To this day I'll still get facebook messages every now and then from someone talking about this story or that that got told.... the fun we had.... *sigh* [yt=Summit]e_3Cg9GZFU&NR[/yt]

Actual WF youtube tags formatted links bitches! I'm not as dumb as I look, apparently. Anywho, the theme of this session is shit I heard at the post office yesterday. Yes, the PO on post here has CD's going constantly, generally classic old school soul. Here are the best of the songs I heard standing in line. It was hard to focus because some older guy kept preaching to anyone and everyone, rambling on about how if you put a baby in a rocket ship it would be 70 years old by the time it reached the nearest star, and that this somehow relates to lack of prayer in our schools bringing God's wrath upon us. Wow......anyway, the tunes: [YT="25 Miles To Go!"]sUJZfSARiHo[/YT] [YT="Strawberry Letter 23"]gC1TBxflN2I[/YT] [YT="Want Ads"]IkJGSnRB9RM[/YT]
Don Williams [YT="Love Me Tonight"]-mwwPqJd8WA[/YT] Jack Greene and Jeannie Seely [YT="Waltz Across Texas"]1zLMrPv_gR8[/YT] In just a few days, the CMA will name this year's inductees to the Country Music Hall of Fame. Each year, they select one person in each of three categories. My choices for this year are: Veterans Era: Jack Greene Modern Era: Ronnie Milsap Non Performer: Record Producer Tony Brown Dottie West and Jerry Reed need to be in the Hall of Fame, but Jack Greene should go in while he's still alive. Don Williams is already in the Hall of Fame.
Dottie West [YT="A Lesson in Leavin'"]3K_Yh-o2Dns[/YT] A #1 country hit for Dottie West in 1979. Randy Goodrum and Brent Maher wrote this great song.
Ronnie [yt=in his prime]N7d5E7XOoPM[/yt] And i can't find a video that's not fan-made for this one but it has to be in the top 10 saddest songs ever recorded: [yt=Almost Like a Song]uz4-iV5XQOg[/yt] Since Jerry Reed was mentioned, here's something from an albums I had back in the day [yt=I wanna go back home to Georgia]HXO8vCwf9Q[/yt]
John Castle reminded me - I think I'll order Marty Robbins - Gun Fighter and Trail Ballads. Great collection of tunes....I love Amazon BTW.
Not really any proper video to go with this one -- the only versions with video were live performances, and the sound quality bites balls with live performances. Nonetheless, enjoy: [yt=The Pogues - Sick Bed Of Chu Chulainn]CcPIA6_zKX4[/yt]
Alan Jackson and Lee Ann Womack at the Opry, for George Jones' 80th birthday. [YT="Golden Ring"]ziAWTzy8lo8[/YT] Sept. 13, 2011
