Snow Patrol - Shut Your Eyes Snow Patrol - Headlights On Dark Roads And the video isn't up to the song, but here is: Snow Patrol with Martha Wainwright - Set The Fire To The Third Bar
Two videos/songs I've been replaying a lot: [YT="Daft Punk ft. Pharell Williams - Get Lucky"]h5EofwRzit0[/YT] http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h5EofwRzit0 [YT="Robin Thicke ft. Iron and Wine - Such Great Heights I was going to post the faster-paced, boppier cover too, but it doesn't show up anywhere in the first two pages of results, and I think that tells you which of their versions is better.
So I'm riding around at lunch and some talk show woman (Laura Ingels maybe) starts talking about how popular music is getting trashy and whatnot and how kids don't know real talent and one of her callers mentioned Earth Wind and Fire. Seriously, they are the total package. George Clinton (funk guru who basically dominated the genre and developed young talent) hated them saying they were just lightweight pop-funk. Sorry George - yeah Mothership Connection, The Clones of Doctor Funkenstein and the 1977 one with "Flashlight" are the trifeta.....but Earth Wind and Fire can do it ALL. Ballads, pop, funk, etc. They have the musical and vocal chops AND can lay down a minimalistic funk groove at the drop of a hat. I think GC was jealous as hell and rightly so. Anyway, the video might be corny but the music doesn't get better than this. [YT="Let's Groove"]_XOY7lsBVpo[/YT]
