Or at least the concept of it. I just got done watching some thing on the National Geographic Channel, where they got a boxer, a kung fu guy, a tae kwon do guy, one each from karate, muy thai, and...ninjitsu--as well as a brick-breaking guy.

Then they took some crash-test dummy engineers and checked out the kind of damage a human body can deal out. It was pretty fucking sweet.

They had a boxer that through a punch at like, 993 pounds, the muy thai guy had like a 2200 pound kick, the tae kwon do guy was able to react and attack targets faster than the average human can even register them, and the brick breaker was able to take (and deal out) damage with his skull that the sensors said would kill a normal person.

So there you go. If you had a guy who, theoretically, was able to go learn all the different martial arts, you could have Batman. :elwood:

Batman's official martial art is Aikido, but that is incorrect, IMO. Aikido hardly does ANY striking, and is considered a "soft" martial art, i.e. one that is suppose to use the attacker's own momentum against him. I was also going to guess it may be Hapkido (the one I take) because Hapkido is described as Aikido with a few more advanced joint locks and with some Karate moves incorporated into it. But you don't see Batman use any of the brutal joint locks that my school teachs me.

If I had to venture a guess, I'd say Batman's style is a mixture of Judo and Karate, with probably some military fighting thrown in. The scene near the middle of Mask of the Phantasm, where he tries to do a move on Andrea Beaumont and it's reversed on him was totally a Judo move.

Hapkido is a very good form of defense, but for many it seems to lack agression. When I was little, I was blessed with a very good instructor that tried to get me started in a Chinese fighting art called Yim Wing Chun (meaning beautiful springtime). This is a form of defense that is specificaly designed for either women or very small men. Instead of relying on brute strength or using others strength and movements against them, wing chun is based primarily on speed and agility. When relying upon Hapkido alone, it can be pretty hard to use anothers momentum against them if you cant react to their actions fast enough :(

Well you'd still have to have all the nifty Bat gear and Bat vehicles. But yeah, with that and if you could find Gotham you could do it!
