The board fix wiped out the thread, and I just got back from Spring Break in Michigan late last night. Later today I'll repost all chapters, in order, and put up the latest new episode as well.

So I read the whole thing (the most recent release) and I think it went by WAY too fast for me! I don't know if it's because I was so excited reading it that I lost track of time, or if the pacing was off and too much happened too quickly.

It's hard to say. Suffice that I loved it, and when I give it another read I will be able to more accurately discern why it seems to be so rushed for me.

Baba, my patience for your nonsense is wearing thin. Keep it in the Red Room.

The rest of you, flaming in rep comments is still flaming, so remember which forum you're in. :nono:

Cain't do that without the rights but I'm also working on a manuscript that I'm going to try to sell, which is why it isn't posted here on WF. Someday, I hope you'll be able to purchase it at Borders. If that day comes, I'll let you know...

    Bastids!

Although, if it's popular enough to show up on a torrent then I might have made some $$$ from it anyway by then.

Truthfully though, the money would be a tertiary issue. I'd just be tickled pink to see something I wrote on the shelf in a bookstore.

    :tasvir:

One of them actually pays well, too!

    :marso:

It's funny, though: the writing thing simply takes practice. I started creative writing back in about 6th grade and have never stopped. I mean, my earliest efforts were plagiarizing Tolkien so hard, but then you move on. The first time I realized I was onto something was when my 7th grade English teacher in Australia had me sit down with a writing guru to talk about some of my early efforts. Very encouraging guy and he was probably partially responsible for keeping me at it. Back then I was into writing 12 page 'novels'. Very formulaic and mostly ripoffs of stuff I'd seen on TV, but there ya go.... (What am I doing with most of my workshop efforts?!?!?)

In 9th grade I expanded my first 12 page novel to 90 pages on a shitty, beat-up typewriter. In 11th grade I rewrote it as a 250 page story, and again in college as a 3 year, 750 page monster that I later pared down to about 400. I still have it sitting on my hard drive, waiting more editing. My sister has read that one and told me I could sell it now, but I think it needs more work.

Every Navy fitrep I ever got referenced my writing skills. Heh. If only they knew how much crap I was banging out as a hobby...

Yeah, there's the other manuscript, the shelving I'm building for the garage this week, etc.

I've only written about six pages of the next chapter. Sorry....

Wrong thread for that kind of stuff. :nono:

You're new, so here's the deal: we don't troll or flame in the Workshop. If you want to discuss Marso's efforts, that's what this thread is for. If you want to "what if?" nuBSG, start your own thread in Media Central.
