Indy has the problem of the second one being pants
Star wars has the problem that one of the films featured ewoks
The matrix just got progressively crapper
Die hard 1 and 3 were good but 2 was pants
LOTR had the problem of unecessary re-writing

    mmmnnnnone of 'em

The Godfather. While Three didn't live up to One and Two, it's really a fine movie with one bit of really bad casting. It doesn't deserve the derision is sometimes gets, and One and Two rank among the best movies ever made.

What about trilogies that are no longer trilogies? Can they still count I wonder? The original Alien trilogy, or Superman.
Another true trilogy I left out was Karate Kid...well I liked it anyway. :marathon:

Oceans 13 hasn't been released, yet, and Shrek 3 has only been out a week.

Star Trek II - IV could be considered a trilogy as well. That's my choice (although there are several great ones in the poll.)
