This same group tried to get one of the soaps I watch to ban kisses between it's current gay couple. The same day, the show offered a contact to one of the actors that played a gay character. Why would anyone want to drive a Ford? Their trucks have horrible turn-over rates.
As someone who doesn't own a truck, but sells a lot of freaking truck parts, I rank quality as follows in trucks (My list is significantly different for cars): 1. Ford (save the 4.2l engine, which has oil return lines so narrow that it foams the oil... especially in idle) 2. Toyota (would get higher... but some of their recent trucks didn't have low oil sensors...) 3. Nissan 4. Chevy 5. Saudi Arabia 6. Bangkok ... ... ... 374,982,573. Dodge
Yes, they clearly are horrible bigots and need to be shot. So what if they support gay marriage or not? Does that matter as long as they treat their gay employees and customers with the same respect as heterosexual ones?

No, because as you pointed out Ford is still supporting its gay workers well so they obviously don't have a problem with them.
Ford didn't back down, they didn't even blink an eye. Less sales means less money for advertisements. These people saw less advertisements in gay-oriented publications and made the obvious conclusion that a giant multi-national manufacturing company cowered before the might of a bunch of busy bodies who are probably all driving Hondas anyway. Ford never changed it's policies towards it's employees or it's customers.
I'm a Christian and my last 5 cars have been Fords and I drive two right now. This boycott was never on my radar. But my next car ain't gonna be another Ford, since they practically stopped making minivans.

Tried buying something other than a Ford once - damn thing died on me before the warranty. Never had trouble with a Ford ever. And since I've bought my hybrid SUV, I've gotten great gas mileage.
What's hilarious is that Ford is cutting advertising/donations because they're broke, not because they give a flying fuck about this nutzo group, but I guess you have to claim victory whenever possible...
My last Ford sucked donkey cocks. I hate that fuckin' piece of shit to this day, and I got rid of it 10 years ago. If I could find the junkyard that it's rusting away in, I'd go blow it the fuck up. Come to think of it, I feel the same way about the last Chevy I owned.
