I didn't expect she'd be dark black. In America you have to be some kinda light skinned or half-caste or something if you want to get anywhere. Recently in the UK a well known girl pop group which has for years had a dark black founding member had her kicked out and replaced by a light skinned girl. Coincidentally just when they're about to be engaged by their corporate management in an attempt to "break America". Some people reckon this was done deliberately to make the band more marketable in the US where there is still a stigma surrounding very dark skinned black people.
Ironically she bears a stunning, though darker, resemblance to Britain's Queen Charlotte. (Queen Consort to George III)

Apparently alot of black women do place themselves into a sort of pigment hierarchy. I was talking to a black girl at work a few years back who said (and I never even heard of this before) this thing called the "paper bag test" has been going on for decades. If you are the color of a paper bag, you're in the "elite" group. Apparently, the lighter a black woman is, the more elite and envied she is among the black communities. If you are darker than a paper bag, you're considered "common." Now don't hit me with negs; this is the God's honest truth from that lady's lips to my ears. In fact if any of our black posters could shed more light on it, that'd be great.
Never heard that one before. As to Miss America there, well, like most of the Miss America winners (and contestants) she just looks too artificial for my tastes. Too much make-up, too much artfully styled hair, too much like a Barbie doll. Gimme a real woman.
Isn't that EVERY woman in Hollywood? No wonder Los Angeles is so dense. After so many treatments, that botox HAS to start seeping into your bloodstream until you wind up like Nancy Pelosi. If I didn't know better, I'd think the woman had been eating food from lead cans for the last 60 years or so.
I fully expect to hear news reports about Rush Limbaugh decrying this decision as affirmative action.

Man oh man. I've known some downright ignorant, inbred, uneducated blondes, (well in all spectrums really except redheads,) but it's a wonder how she got to where she is. My God. I suppose pole dancing or flatbacking doesn't require a lot of smarts. I think Webster's needs to seriously consider a link of this under the definition of Blonde: stereotypical.
