I enjoy this game so much more as a spectator. If there is another game I'm almost ready to get back into it, but I really shouldn't. It is so much more fun from the sidelines (for me).
Weren't you just boasting about using the energy bug to help you take a planet? And don't you have worlds in sector 3000 taking advantage of the bugs regarding that sector? You want to take the good you have to take the bad.
The energy bug helped, but it wasn't the deciding factor, and I would have taken the worlds regardless, just with an extra 300 turns spent. Now, I'm not talking about a small thing like a ship blowing up, I'm talking about THIRTY SEVEN QUINTILLION CREDITS disappearing like a fart in the wind. My money was there, and all of a sudden it wasn't. Like my defenses when Timmy took my worlds. I accepted that as 'thems the breaks', but I feel perhaps something could/should be done to correct my loss in this instance. Also, there are no beneficial bugs in sector 3000, they cut both ways.
Yeah, I tried to deposit 10 quintillion into IGB and it somehow turned into negative 5 quintillion and when I logged out my score turned into "NAN". So I basically lost about 15 quintillion. We need to end the game soon, this is getting crazy. It appears we can't carry more than 9.2 quintillion, and neither can our planets or the bank.
Had I known, I would've started spreading it out over more worlds carefully. I think now that we've got new people interested, it might be better to just start a new game for everyone involved.
^Yup. And this game may as well be a draw, since neither of us will be able to get more than 9.2 quintillion into the bank, despite myself having ten times that up until about 15 minutes ago.
I think at any rate its time for me to move 'beyond the rim'. I'll be wiping out my sectors over the next 24 hours. Nobody needs to help me
So I guess the highest level a player can ever reach is 54, and not 59, since a ship can't carry much more than 9 quintillion credits and level 59 costs upwards of 300 quintillion credits. Damn, it would have been so nice to cruise around with nearly 2.5 trillion fighters, torpedoes, and armor. Edit: though, it's nice to know that most of my planets could never possibly be captured.
Sure they could, it'd just take a frigging long time. When I was conquering Bailey's world, I'd max out Armor, Fighters, and Beams, and have enough power to run them all. The its engines 16 and tech-zero for the rest. You'll wear the defenses down a bit at a time. I think I was wiping out fighters at a rate of 30 million per attack.
Shit. Now I'm hesitant to get into the next game. You guys have this down to a science to a degree that I don't think any amount of luck and boyish good looks will overcome.
I dunno, the early game depends alot upon luck and fortune, and you're pretty good looking... I don't think anyone will be unduly harsh on you, if that's what you are worried about. I wouldn't be where I am without good allies.
So any chance of this game ending soon? It's gone on for over three months. Also, the highest score is apparently 2,147,483,647. So around 4,611,686,014,132,420,609 credits, even though IGB is able to hold about 5 quintillion more than that, and I have 98 quintillion more than that.
So, Timmy and I are both tied in the rankings, which means both of our IGB's are maxed out and neither of us can advance any higher. My military tech is just about 50, and I think I can max THAT out in about another week. I know we have 1 or 2 new people, but I think they might be better served by everyone starting over.
Okay, I suppose we can have a restart. Game will end tonight, next game will start on Wednesday. Input regarding the next game should be addressed to this forum.
Wow, that was fast :-D I like having enough lead time, so I'm glad we're waiting a week. I think if we get alot of people committed to this next one (and it looks like we might), we might wanna go with 4000 sectors. Also, reducing port frequency could be interesting.
Thank you Nick, you're a gentleman and a scholar. Knowing the next game will start a couple days in advance is most welcome.
Made it all the way to 360 quintillion credits. Would have been more, but I got really bored populating new sectors to store all my credits so all of my planets were stuck at around 9.2 quintillion for a while. Hell, I may as well donate a bunch to everyone.
