Apparently this one wasn't a MAX, but still :spock:
A Southwest Airlines flight safely returned to Denver International Airport early Sunday after a removable piece of metal that covers the engine fell off and struck a wing flap, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

The Boeing 737-800 plane was departing for William P. Hobby Airport in Houston at around 8:15 a.m. local time when the engine cowling fell off. Video posted to social media shows the metal segment flapping against the wing while it was still on the tarmac.

Okay, if you skip to about the 20-minute mark on this video, they play a clip taken by a passenger on a plane (don't know the airline or who made the plane), where the pilot comes on and says, "Hey folks, there's something a little wonky with one of the engines. They tell me that it's just a filter issue and that the plane is safe to fly. I'm sorry, but I don't feel comfortable flying this plane, so I've told them to get us a different one. I apologize if this screws up your plans, but I just don't feel confident taking this plane to Hawaii." The passengers applaud the captain.

    Video here:

And based on the information booklet in the back of the seat, the plane is an Airbus 321neo.

We've seen windows fall out of planes too many times for that to not be possible. :P

I am pretty sure they should regard flying in a boeing to be an emergency at this point.

Let's hope that whistleblower doesn't have dinner plans. He's going to suddenly decide to commit suicide in a few days.

Back on those days, flight attendanta were forced to retire by the age of 32 because they weren't considered sexy after 35 :|

Then there was Pacific Southwest Airways, which was famous for it's knockout flight attendants (stewardesses as they were known back then). Even though I was barely a teenager they made quite an impression on me the one time I flew PSA. To this day, I suspect that Hugh Hefner was the airline's consultant for hiring flight attendants...
It's worth remembering that the original flight attendants had to be registered nurses...y'know...just in case they were flying Boeings... :spock:

It is a good thing we have a guy who has never met deregulation of big companies he didn't like, and Donald "Give me a buck to destroy any regulations" trump as our choices in the next election.

It is almost like you get what you vote for when you demand nothing of your politicians. Can someoine please show me where Biden is doing better than Trump in this matter? I am trying to find it, and it seems to me that electing Biden actually makes people feel like something is being done, which it isn't. At least with Trump you know the regulations are fucked, so those of us who do not want to die can try to stay away from danger.

Not that you really can stay away from the dangers of no regulations, but I do not want to be thousands of feet above the ground when my death becomes imminent. If I crash to my death I really don't want to think about it while falling to the earth.
